Emily was born Oct 28, 1986.  She was a multiple Best Puppy in Show winner.  She continued her winning ways as an adult, attaining her American title undefeated and with group placements.  In 1991 she was the Number One Dachshund and Number Ten hound. She made history by being the first Smooth bitch to win Six All Breed Best in Shows, Two Best in Specialty Shows as well as being in the Top Ten Hounds.  She produced one litter of five, of which two were shown.  Am Can Ch Chilcotin's Plum Coulee and Ch Chilcotin's Willow of Jericho (Owned by Ted and Sharon Spearin) These girls are now nine years old.

Shoni was born Oct 8, 1988 and was from the repeat breeding that produced Emily.  She was, in our opinion, the epitome of the Dachshund breed.  Shoni was the Top Smooth Dachshund in 1990.  She had more than thirty group firsts in her campaign year.  Her USA majors were all awarded at Specialties.  

Unfortunately she was only bred once.  We kept all four puppies. They are, Can Am Ch Chilcotin's Roses Are Red, Can Am Ch Chilcotin's Second Hand Rose, Ch Chilcotin's Wine And Roses and Ch Chilcotin's Keeper of The Rose. As of 2005, Shoni has been reunited with all of her children at the Rainbow Bridge.

Freebie was born Jan 4, 1992.  She is the daughter of Shoni (above).  In 1993 she was shown eight weekends and was the Number one Smooth Dachshund in Canada.  

Freebie won her first Best in Show owner-handled by my sister, Alana Smith.  She finished her American Championship by winning Best In Show from the open bitch class at the Cascade Dachshund Specialty.  Her children, Monty and Gazoo, will be continuing on the Chilcotin tradition.

Kiwi was born Jan 4, 1992, a daughter of Shoni and litter sister to Freebie.  A multiple puppy group winner, she finished her American Championship in quick order.  

She was leased by Ed and Pat Macdonald of Valona Kennels and was bred to Am Ch Flemings Four Star Innovation. This litter produced eight black and tans. Am Can Ch Valona's Shaman came from this litter. Also, the one token girl, Ch Valona's Pocohontas is doing Valona proud in the whelping box.  

A recessive longhair, Ch Valona's Chief Longshot (Sneakers is co-owned with Holly Robinson and Ed Macdonald) had many group placements en route to his Championship at under a year of age. Kiwi's life was cut short in 1998, when she was attacked by a coyote. Thank you to Ed and Pat Macdonald for sending us her grand daughter, Ch Valona's Prairie Princess to take her place.
