Rants and Raves
All these rants are from some two years ago, so if it seems odd :P thats why.
This is my page for rants. And raves. Flames. Vents.
If you don't feel like reading my thoughts, then don't. I'm not holding you back, and I'm not encouraging you to get mad over what I think about certain things.
First off, if you like Waynesville, I suggest you don't read this.
For a long time, I've wanted to write a little story *or commentary* about a little town called Waynesville, Missouri. I have lived here for 7 years and I feel like I don't belong here. Throughout the years I've noticed similarities when it comes to locals. For example: they don't drive properly, Walmart is a hangout, you can't find any of those 'perfect guyz'... I don't like this town. The people are annoying and the rules are annoying.
Waynesville's culture... or lack of. If you want to find a decent store to buy clothes you have to drive two hours to get to a Hot Topic, Claire's, DEB, or any fashionable store other than Gadzooks, Maurices, and Walmart. Everyone shops at the last 3 stores. just to get different clothes and be unique you have to drive to Springfeild. No one here has any clue what anime is, and the only way to find out is to go online. Going online is one of the only things to do. Boredom is a big problem. And costs.
Extreme bowling costs over $8 to bowl!, and the Cinema 8 is $6.75. PFAA Theatre on the Square is $5 for my age group. It is only $3 for a play by the high school. Speaking of which, no one goes to the plays because they are 'high school quality' or 'plays are stupid.' If people do see the plays they don't know what theatre etiquitte is. Cell phones, talking, slamming doors, babies... Do not bring your baby to a play; it annoys the audience and it breaks the actors concentration. Standing ovations are used too often. I don't think middle school band/choir or some high school band/choir performances deserve standing ovations. They should only be used for excellent *the absolute best* performances you've ever seen. Just because you son or daughter is in the band/choir/play doesn't mean you must stand up at the end.
Speaking of high school, the drama is crap. Girls think guyz love them, guyz think they are players. Hello, when you go to a school with 1300 people you know half of them, so it's useless to try to play your girlfriend. Either her friend or she will find out. Guyz at this school are either: horny and cute; stupid and cute; or both. If you are one of my friends you don't fall in any of those descriptions. School rules are too strict... no hats, no midrif, no hair color, no cussing. My friends and I like to talk while we are at our lockers in the morning. One teacher tells us to keep walking every morning. We are not blocking the halls and we have 15 minutes to get to class. If we leave at 7:38 we'll get to class too soon and I don't like having no one to talk to.
Some of the teachers are stupid. --a certain science teacher-- Or they are too strict. --a certain Algebra teacher-- Or they are the complete opposite of what they teach (if you know what I mean.) --a certain spiffy language teacher--. We are supposed to wear these stupid i.d.'s that never match the outfits.
The people at school are rude. Freshmem are a bunch of hoes this year. Sophomores think they are all-that cuz they are sophies and no longer froshies. Juniors are a bunch of preps... (except for the lucky ones I talk to) And seniors are just a pain in the ass. A girl I don't even know got sarcastic with me when I was playin around with a friend, Mel. Mel was in line and I was passing thru and I said "Get outta my way, Melanie." I was playing around and apparently this chick decided to get into the conversation and said "Umm, there's a word called Excuse me." I was like screw you.
One day in the hallway I was walking to class with Jenny and Cassi when someone threw something and it hit my head. It seems like if you want to survive in WHS you have to have a big ego and lots of sarcasm. It seems like there was a conspiracy against the Junior class. The first pep assembly, we got last place in the class competition. The second pep assembly, we decided we wouldn't participate. We juniors sat down and didn't do the class cheer. We didn't win the Penny Wars, but we put tons of money into it.
Another thing that bothers me about Waynesville are the roads. Or, to put it bluntly, the stupid people who shouldn't drive. People don't know how to use their blinkers. Blinkers are useful, and will keep me from getting into a crash. Who ever put up the speed limit signs I want to shoot. You can't go 55-60 down H highway and not get thrown off the road. When you are passing the magic rock frog, it's near immpossible to slow from 45 to 25 when you are going down a large hill into a valley with a stop sign at the bottom of the hill. The whole walmart road is crappy. It's too busy and people out of state do not understand the phrase "Right turn on red." It's perfectly all right to turn right on red in Missouri.
*Sigh* Some people are just slow these days...
