• NT Server only:

• Administrative Wizards.
• Server Manager; views and manages domains and computers.
• User Manager for Domains. Manages security. If the computer is not configured as a domain controller, User Manager is installed.

• NT Workstation only:
• User manager.

• NTS and NTWS:
• Backup.
• Event viewer. Also gives information about login attempts.
• Windows NT Diagnostics.
• Help; is context sensitive.

• By logging on to Windows NT (pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL) the Logon Information dialog box is showed. There are a few options: 
• User name.
• Password.
• Domain.
• Logon using dial-up networking checkbox. (only works when Remote Access Service (RAS) is installed)
• Shutdown.

• When a user is logged on, CRTL+ALT+DEL brings up the Windows NT Security dialog box that contains the following options.

 

• Lock Workstation. Secures the computer without logging off. All applications remain running. A locked workstation can only be unlocked by the current user or the administrator.
• Change password. This is the only way for users to change their passwords.
• Logoff. Logs off user but leaves services running.
• Task Manager.
• Shut Down.
• Cancel.
