Stéphane DUCASSÉ
(flute)
Ducassé began his musical
studies at the Ecole Nationale de Musique d’Agen and the Conservatoire de
Toulouse (CNR). He graduated
from the two schools with highest honors: a
gold medal in flute and chamber music (Agen),
and a first prize in music theory (Toulouse).
Ducassé was then accepted
into the prestigious « Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris » where
he studied under Christian CHERET, flutist for the Opéra de Paris, and Yvan
BELLOCQ, renowned flutist and composer.
He graduated in 1994 with the « Diplôme Supérieur
d’Enseignement et de Concert ».
In Masterclass, he has worked with James GALWAYS, Patrick GALLOIS,
Christian LARDE, and Sheseignori KUDO.
An active
performer in various ensembles, Ducassé was twice engaged by the « Maison
de Radio France » for National broadcast, he toured with
International concert pianist Alexander PALEY, and was chosen as soloist
for the « Proxima centaury » ensemble.
Apart from classical chamber music, Ducassé has appeared as
pianist and flutist in jazz ensembles, and was once invited to take part
in a « jam session » with the legendary group
«the Crusaders ».
Currently,
Ducassé is a flute, jazz, and music theory instructor
at the CIAM in Bordeaux, and teaches ear-training and jazz
improvisation at the « Ecole National de Musique d’Agen ».
Benoît
Albert began
his musical studies in 1988 at the Conservatoire in Bordeaux and the
University Michel Montaigne. He graduated with highest honors: a gold
medal in both guitar and conterpoint.
Later, he received a medal for his classical guitar acheivements
(Bordeaux), and was awarded a first prize in chamber music and a prize in
musical harmony. Albert continued his studies at the « Conservatoire
National Supérier de Musique de Paris » where he studied guitar
with Olivier CHASSAIN and Carel HARMS, music theory with Frederic DURIEUX,
and chamber music with Christian
IVALDI , Pierre-Laurant AIMARD and Laszlo HADADY.
In 1998, Albert was awarded the first prize for classical guitar,
and a year later, the coveted
first prize for chamber music with guitarist
Randall AVERS.
A musical
historian, festival organiser, and solo and chamber music performer,
Albert is an active member in the musical community.
Aside from his various concert appearences throughout France, he
was invited as a guest artist for the 1995 International Guitar Festival
in Venezuela. As a chamber musician, he concertises with the guitar duo,
ROCCHIETTI-ALBERT and the highly praised flute/guitar duo, DUCASSÉ-ALBERT.
Currently,
Albert teaches classical guitar at the
«Ecole National de Musique d’Agen ».
He is also founder and director of the international guitar series
« Guitaromania ».
