It was a fight I couldn’t turn away from. It was as fun and thrilling as it was disturbing to watch the X-Men’s favorite sex symbol going head to head with the X-Men’s favorite serial killer. Psylocke was the ninja whose always been quiet in the background of most stories. She’s always been like those girls we’d see in wrestling shows: part of the excitement, part of the entertainment, but essentially invalid. Still, she’s an X-Man, which makes her heroic. It was this heroism that made this fight something special. She fighting Sabretooth because a teenager accidently released him. Sabretooth was just being everything I like about him. Cruel, merciless, in control, out for blood. But with Psylocke under his claw, you had to admire him and hate him all at once. |
