Alice ascended up a strange staircase and suddenly found herself…
…blinking in bright daylight. Strange alien gods watched down from the sky as she crossed a cornfield to a twisted mass of building. It was here that she would find the answers to all the questions that had plagued her on this aborted quinceañera vacation. The hideous guardian seemed not to see her. It was as if she were expected.
Just as she neared the organically growing edifice, the guardian began to replicate itself. One of its clones appeared behind her and she tripped. A gaping trapezoidal opening appeared in the space time continuum and she fell into it.
Alice found herself in a dark chamber. Before her were the monsters of the isle and, to her great surprise, she was there right in their midst. Queen Alice of the Island of the Valley of the Monsters and her grotesque but loyal subjects.
“That’s right, my child,” said Queen Alice, “It was I who left the Skeletal Monstrosity flaming on the beach. It was I who stripped you naked and made your cage plummet to the center of the earth. It was I planted the suggestion of a quinceañera in the minds of your foster parents. Welcome home, Alice, welcome home.”
