Mountain Palm Springs

We took a side trip to the Mountain Palm Springs where there were several naturally occuring palm oasis. Short hikes (a mile or so) led to several of these sites.

The "Surprise" oasis was rather large

It was comfortable resting in the shade of the palms
There were palms of all sizes

On the hillside we spotted a rare elephant tree
Cliff hiked up to check the elephant tree out

He noted the the tree's trunks were fairly large. It was a nice specimin.
Walking out we spotted another small oasis
