We went to visit the famous "Slab City." It is a deserted miltary outpost in the desert. Rhere are many concrete (s;abs" to park an RV on and many folks have done so. It is now a "free form" city with no real government. You can stay there as long as you like, for free, and many people do. There are units ranging fromburnt out hulks to motor homes worth several hundred thousand dollars. Would be a good place for a "cheap" rally, but the are NO services there.
The old guard bunker has been converted into a welcome sign. |
Steve is checking it out. |
One guy clained this area and has it all "prettied up" |
He must be religeous, or something. |
He is ready to take his message on the road. |
His vehicle is labeled for all to read. |
Now here's an old Airstream trailer |
It has messages painted on it as well. |
