A Good start...Now what It has been a good start.A point off the point and the top,with a 100% home record.Damn is this too good to be true? Or will it all fade away in a couple of weeks? For starters we aren't playing all that well.Point in case, the first half against West Ham. The passing was screwed,the running was aimless and the commitment was all too familiar-absent.Only when things improved were Spurs lucky to get the win So how does one explain the good start?Well thankfully, the opposition was meek.Ipswich is a prime candidate for eventual relegation and both Everton and Boro are not too different from Spurs.Both are merely mid table prospects and West Ham are going through a rut at the moment. So the door was open for good results and Spurs walked right through it. The only thing standing in the way of Spurs finishing in the top five this season is the lack of depth in the squad.Spurs have during the past few seasons been beset with one injury crisis after another.The only reason it became a crisis was that there was no suitable replacements for those that picked up injuries.Looking down this season's team list it looks as if that is what is going to happen AGAIN!!!. There is one way to solve the problem of course.SHOW ME THE MONEY.A cool twenty million pounds would settle the crisis.Gareth Southgate is fed up at Villa,he could make an excellent replacement for Chris Perry,who is getting lousier and more injury prone by the minute.With Darren Anderton constantly on the sick bed and with rest of the midfield unabashedly average,there has to be some serious investment in this department.I would be appalled if George Graham doesn't pad further this squad. Now sort of being a boo-boy, I think there is promise this season.Rebrov has been an excellent buy.Steve Carr just keeps getting better and Ian Walker better put his resume out because there is no way Neil Sullivan is going to lose his place with the way he is playing.With the top teams having European commitments Spurs would do well to take advantage of this.So fingers crossed hopefully things stay the way it is or dare i say better. Meanwhile over at Stamford Bridge, Vialli just got fired and good old George Graham has been linked to the job. To which I say TAKE IT GEORGE AND DONT COME BACK
