The kinds of services offered by the association

 

The association offer many services to children with special needs in order to achieve its message and reach its aims and goals.

 The services offered by the association are:

1)    A rehabilitation house: there is a rehabilitation house for the children with special needs. This house submits to the association . it starts work at 7:30 am till 2:00 pm. The house of rehabilitation offers through care and education through specialists in educating and rehabilitating the disabled. The house consists of classes and each class contains a number of children classified according to the degree of their disability whether physical or mental.

2)    Physiotherapy: association offers treatment sessions for the physically handicapped children three times weekly. This is concerning the external cases. The sessions are held daily for the registered cases. Physiotherapists offer the sessions. Every session contains treatment exercises and treatment by electrical equipments for every child.

3)    The medical committee: the association offers the services of periodical medical examinations for the children. It also offers the needed medication for free. This services offered by specialized physicians each in his field. The association also arranges the admition of children to some public and upper class hospitals on its own expense.

4)    Communication and treating speech disorders: this service was available in the past through hiring a communication specialist. Because of the high cost, the association recruited one of the assistants to receive courses in communication. She has already become a communication specialist who offers her services to anyone who needs it whether a child listed in the association or an outpatient.

5)    The pharmacy: the pharmacy of the association contains a large quantity of medicines. It provides all the needs of children concerning medication. This service is gratuitous for the children of the kindergarten and sold at a very low price to the outpatients.

6)    Splints: the association makes splints and simple substituting equipment for children at a low price. These equipments are allowed to be taken out by the children at home. They are also used during the physiotherapy sessions.

7)     The workshop: the association makes presents and frames as a source of income to provide the material needs of the association. In addition, through the workshop, we provide an element of occupational rehabilitation for the handicapped children. The workshop also provide an opportunity to teach them some simple professions which allow them to go side by side with their mates in society and achieve a way of getting income in the future.

8)    The workhouse: there is a workhouse to teach girls knitting and some handwork to complete the service of occupational rehabilitation for males and females.

9)    The committee of public relations: this committee organizes the celebrations of different religious, national and official occasions as well as birthdays. It is also responsible for external and international calls.

10)          The committee of nutrition:  which has complete supervision over general cleaning, nutrition, serving meals containing all alimental elements, taking care of children suffering from difficulty of swallowing, preparing lists of the fundamental alimental factors and distributing them to the parents in a way that suits every child individually.

11)          The committee of family guidance: which has supervision over periodical meeting to enhance the parents' awareness of the manner of dealing with their handicapped children, the ways of protection from having a handicapped child , the sanitary protection of the mother before, during and after pregnancy, the committee also works on supporting the social interaction of the handicapped child in the family and community.

12)          The committee of trips and journeys: which supervises the committee of internal trips it is also responsible for the programmes of summer resorts for the children of the association and the families. This provides the entertaining side for these children just like normal children. The committee also endeavors to provide this service with a proper traveling level.
