USS DESTINY Specifications

INTRODUCTION

When Admiral Janeway infected the borg queen with a neurolytic pathogen, the borg that were freed through Unimatrix Zero by Captain Janeway where not effected by the pathogen because they were not linked to the collective. With the collective gone, some of the borg returned to their home planets, while most decided to stay in borg space and form the Free Borg Republic. They stayed there for 33 years until they made first contact with a race from the Andromeda galaxy (the Chystalians) in 2403. To make a long story short (you have to wait for the movie), the Free Borg Republic joined the United Federation of Planets which by then controlled the entire alpha and part of the beta and the gamma quadrants (this expansion was a direct result of the futuristic technology brought back by Admiral Janeway). The United Federation of Planets then made a technological and tactical alliance with the Chystalians. It was then decided that a new ship should be build to serve both as a flagship for the new Intergalactic coalition and as a test-bed from various new technologies that evolved as a result of the alliance. The new ship, which finished construction in 2408, was named the USS DESTINY registry number NX 92809.
