My Trip to Al's Wedding |
||||
Thursday morning:
Ah, good morning world. We left the window open the first night and it got a little too cool. I could have used a jacket or coat. But it is 100 degrees in Austin, I didn't think it would ever get into the 50's in July. Anyway here is the view from our hotel room:
Thursday morning, Mike and I did a little shopping. Mike stocked up on postcards. While I got my obligatory souvenirs for the kids - Tahoe Tessie stuffed animals, T-shirts and coloring books. I hit a quick and easy gold mine of touristy stuff. Paul stayed at the hotel and check on work email with his laptop computer. I did NOT check on or even worry about work at all.
Then we took a drive around the lake to South Lake Tahoe. South Lake Tahoe is the big tourist area. It has the big casinos, ski resorts, many hotels, and restaurants. North Lake Tahoe (where the wedding was) tends to be more locals or summer homes of northern Californians. Al's in-laws own a home at the Incline Village. We are waiting for Al to invite us join him there for a summer or winter vacation. In another 5-10 years it will be time for another reunion.
