This applet demonstrates the physics of a wheel of a car. I used one point for the center of the wheel (red circle) and another point on the frame at the top of the spring (black dot) and the velocities for each point to calculate four forces.
This applet was one of the programs I made to test out my ideas for car physics before implementing them in Quake 3 Rally. This program is a 2D simulation of one side of a car. The simulation only looks at the gravity, shock, spring and normal forces on the points as the car moves. The rear wheel is given a constant force to the right when it is on the ground to simulate the tire accelerating the car.
The graph shows the various force values for the front wheel.
