Interactive Storytelling
Storytelling is an elemnet often
used in interaction design. Linear and Non-Linear Narratives help
in understanding an issue or a problem. A Linear narrative is where
a series of events happen one after the other in a linear fashion,
the story has a set beginning , body and the end. But in a Non Linear
narrative events may happen one after the other or run parrallel
to each other. There could be stories within a story, there is no
set beginning or end. Such structures help in developing interactive
narratives which are enjoyable and interesting.
The Project
"Jungle Book like never before" was a classroom project.
It is a self composed Non-Linear narrative. This Jungle Book story
starts where the original story ends.
The objective was to make children aware of Animal Abuse or crimes
aganinst animals through this story. A child can choose story of
any character from the options available. All stories run parallel
to each other but they have the same end.
