Few interesting events in this Kdam; The first appearance of Yardena Arazi in the Kdam as a solo singer, after the splitting of the trio "Shocolad Menta Mastik", with her huge hit "Musica Nisheret" (Music is staying) which reached the 2nd position. From this day on to the end of the 80's Yardena was one of the most popular Israeli singers.
Izhar Cohen, the 1978 Eurovision winner, competed again for the first time after his victory (many other are going to come later) , but he wasn't lucky this time when Avi Toledano and his song "Hora" won the first place.
A great and unforgettable song is Melody by the bizzare group Izolirband, which became popular recently, years after this Kdam took place.

The winning song, "Hora", had competed in the Eurovision held that year in Harrogate, reching high into the 2nd position, but with about 60 points difference from the German winner.
