The romance between Yardena Arazi and the Eurovision Song Contest began in 1976, when she
performed in the Eurovision Song Contest in Holland as a part of the "Chocolad Menta Mastik" group with the song
"Emor Shalom" (Say Hello), reaching 6th place.
Three years later, after the managers of the Israeli Broadcast Authority found out that Yardena could talk fluent French, they gave
her the assignment to present the 1979 Eurovision Song Contest in Jerusalem along with Daniel Pe'er.
From then on, a series of frustrating appearances as a solo singer on the "Kdam" were Yardena's lot:
Second place on the 1982 "Kdam" with "Musica Nisheret" (Music Is Staying)
and another second place on the 1983 "Kdam" with "Shiru Shir Amen" (Sing a Song Amen).
Then came a third place on the 1985 contest with "Od Nagi'a" (We Shall Reach It).
In 1987 Yardena was the presenter of the "Kdam" along with Yoram Arbell, and In
1988 Yardena was finally at the Eurovision. This time it was decided to choose her without a competition.
Yardena performed four songs, with the viewers choosing one song to represent Israel. The chosen song was
"Ben Adam" (Human Being) and it had reached the 7th position in Ireland.
Today, Yardena is co-hosting the TV show "Cafe Telad", an early morning program on Israeli second channel. You can spot her in the show
on tuesdays and fridays at 6:00 to 9:00.
