Episode 10 - Your Grandpa!
In the last episode, Charles had been voted out of the game. Him and Jose had been the only two players to not win Immunity that round, in a shocking twist, and as a result one of the two had to be voted out by the others. This meant Jon and Kelley, the last 2 ex-Freyan tribe members, were able to survive another round. In addition, with Megs voting due to the delayed departure twist, the two were able to decide which would be to their advantage to keep. In the end, they chose for Jose to stay, getting Charles voted out.
However, now Jamie and Holly were in a bit of a problem. Having voted for Jose, their Idun-alliance member, last round, they had to somehow make sure Jose would still be okay going with them to the Final 3. Holly approached Jose, and told him the truth that her and Jamie had voted for him last round. Jose was understanding of the situation, and reaffirmed his committment to the Idun alliance.
Meanwhile, the game was beginning to take it's toll on some of the players. So far, within less than 25 days, the game had dwindled down to 5 players in the game. During that time, there had been a twist added to the game nearly every round. Holly in talking to Jamie expressed great frustration with the game. Jamie supported her, telling her it was almost over, and there was no reason to quit. However, what Holly hadn't told him was that fairly soon she would be leaving on a number of trips with her family that she was unable to miss. This would cause her to miss a good deal of the endgame, which could take a toll on Jamie and her's alliance. However, for now, she remained silent.
Meanwhile, Charles let Jamie in on a little bit of information in telling him about Jose's alliance with Kelley. As a result, Jamie, Charles, and Holly all agreed that this round, they would have to plan on voting out Jon in order to maintain a majority and weaken the Freya alliance. Jamie and Holly both felt that voting out Kelley would be a better move strategically, but felt it would be best to agree with Charles nad have his and Jose's vote.
It seemed set in stone for Jon to be going. However, Kelley and Jon had a plan to save him. The two had been saving up money, and recently had purchased a number of null votes from the Sweden store. Having this, they would be able to nullify to other people's votes, causing the tribal council vote to only have 4 people of their choice voting. With this advantage, could Jon be saved?
For now, it was to be another chance at getting saved with the Immunity Challenge. This week, the challenge was an unusual test in people skills. Cat had manage to convince an old, Swedish grandfather to participate in that week's challenge. Being a traditional Swedish cultural grandfather, he loved to tell everyone about all the famous people who he thought were Swedish. However, not only was this Grandfather sometimes wrong, but he never knew any of their names!
Therefore, for the challenge, the Grandfather would describe a person or a group of people who were famous that he thought were Swedish. The players would then have to identify if this person described was actually Swedish or not. If they were not, to receive full credit, players would have to say what nationality the person actually was. After the Grandfather was done listing famous people, whoever had the most points would win.
Throughout the challenge, the players had much fun interacting with the Grandfather, trying to make sure he didn't fall out of his rocking chair. In addition, the Grandfather seemed unable to get any of the player's names straight. Despite these issues, the challenge was a success. When the points were tallied, Holly had 9, Jon had 18, Jose had 14, while Jamie had 22 points, giving him immunity! In addition, as the incorrect answers were being given out, Holly and Jose were yelled at by Grandpa for saying various people like Aqua and Shooreh Aghdashloo were from Sweden. However, after his fit, Grandpa was set back to his cabin in the woods where he could comfortably rest.
Once again, for the fourth time in the game, Jamie had won individual immunity! In addition, this meant that Jamie had been immune every single round of the game since the start except for the one round where no immunity had been offered. Clearly, Jamie was a threat of some sort, but the players in the game did not seem to mind. As it was, they were unable to vote him out that round.
With the Immunity Challenge done, Jon was still vulnerable and still the Idun alliance's main target. However, Jon and Kelley had purchased their null votes, and now secretly used them on Holly and Jamie. However, Jon knew that if they used their null votes now, the next round one of the two would be voted out by the other three. Therefore, Jon approached Jose with an offer for the final 3 with him and Kelley. After reminding him about Holly and Jamie's "obvious alliance" and that they had voted for him last round, Jon then mentioned that he had the upper had with the two null-votes. At this point, Jose told Jon he had to think about his offer, and walked away.
It was then that Jose approached Holly, who aside from the Idun alliance he had originally formed a final 2 deal in the first round of the game with (even though Holly's true intentions lay with Jamie). Jose told her dutifully that Kelley and Jon had bought 2 null-votes, and were planning to cause a tie to try and get her out. To solve this problem, Holly went ahead and bought a null vote on her own to use that night at Tribal Council, this time on Jon.
As a result, only three people would be voting that Tribal Council (although nobody knew for sure): Jose, Kelley, and Charles (due to the delayed departure twist). Kelley was certain to vote for Holly, while Jose seemed dead-set on voting for Jon. However, would Charles necessarily vote with Idun? The answer came harshly at Tribal Council.
The voting proceeded as follows:
Votes for Jon: 2 - Charles, Jose
Votes for Holly: 1 - Kelley
Votes for Nobody: 3 - Holly, Jamie, and Jon (nulled by Jon, Kelley and Holly respectively).
Despite their efforts to gain the upper-hand, Jon and Kelley had failed, and the Idun-Alliance had won once again. Jon was voted out in a 2-1 vote. However, he would not be leaving the game just yet. Due to the delayed departure twist, he would be spending one extra round in the game, with the ability to vote and create havoc for revenge. That night, it was Charles, voted out in the previous round, who would be departing. Would Jon and Kelley be able to do anything to prevent the Idun-alliance from dominating, or was the game's final 2 of Holly and Jamie set in stone? And who would win the game: Holly, Jamie, Jose, or Kelley? All shall be told in the next and final episode of Vengeful Survivor: Sweden
