Episode 7 - Fatal Freyan Mistakes

At the previous night's tribal council, Valerie had left the game after last minute discoveries that she had broken her alliance with Steven and Kelley. Marion had then teamed up with Steven and Kelley to vote Valerie out, leaving Freya tribemates Megs and Jon very lost and confused. However, due to the delayed departure twist, Valerie would be staying another week in the game, while Marion, voted out the week before, would leave.

Valerie took her leaving very personally. At first, she raged about camp, angry that Steven and Kelley would betray her. Even though she had plotted to vote Steven out, she had put trust in them and was especially annoyed that Kelley did not stick with her, but rather Steven. Soon after, Valerie approached Cat (the host) saying she refused to participate in the game any longer, and wanted to leave early. Cat refused at first, but Valerie demanded to be withdrawn from the game. Finally, they compromised, saying Valerie would be allowed to leave the game if she cast a vote for Tribal Council in advance. The two agreed, and so Valerie departed from the game early, but still getting a chance at revenge.

Megs and Jon had both had alliances with Kelley, each formed on Day 2 of the game. Both of them were now confused as to why Kelley had not voted with them, and instead voted with Steven and Marion. When Megs approached her about this, Kelley then confessed to Megs and Jon that she had originally formed an alliance with Valerie, Steven, and Ben, and that when Valerie tried to get Steven out she felt it was betrayal of her alliance. The discovery of Kelley having these multiple alliances shocked Megs and Jon, and upset them greatly.

The Freya tribe was falling to peices. Now, everyone was angry with each other. It seemed like the tribe was destined to fall apart. However, it was then that a twist came...

The next day, the tribes of Idun and Freya came together for what they thought would be an immunity challenge. However, they were shocked to learn two things: Firstly, Idun and Freya had remerged, to once again become the tribe of Loki. Secondly, that round, instead of an immunity challenge, they would be having an Auction, using the kronas they had been earning throughout the game for doing confessionals and conversations.

HOWEVER, in addition to this, what the castaways had never known was that when players were voted out of the game, they chose who would receive their kronas. Aurora had given her kronas to Marion. Ben had given his kronas to Kelley. Maria had given her kronas to Megs. Amber had given her kronas to Marion, while Felipe had given his kronas to Holly. Lastly, and somewhat ironically, Marion had given ALL of her kronas to Holly, the one who had gotten her voted out.

As a result, kronas totals stood as follows in the game:

Charles: 200
Holly: 515
Jamie: 220
Jon: 235
Jose: 430
Kelley: 465
Megs: 415
Steven: 225

With these kronas totaled, the castaways then began an auction in which they could bid on items. However, all of the items were mystery items, meaning they could be good or bad, but either way they would have an effect on the game. There would be a total of 4 items, and each person could only win one item from the auction.

With the rules explained, the auction began. On the first mystery item, Jamie won after bidding 105 kronas, only to learn it was a no-vote at Tribal Council. Jose then won a null-vote for 170 kronas. Holly then won a control vote for 105 kronas. Then, Steven won a split-vote at 150 kronas, which would allow him to split a vote at Tribal Council to be 2 half votes between 2 different people. And finally, much to her excitement, Megs won a jar of peanut butter for 10 kronas.

After the auction, it was then revealed to the tribemates there was another twist to the kronas: From now until the final 4 in the game, contestants could purchase various items for use at Tribal Councils from a shop. This shop contained the following items at the following prices:

1. Null Vote--nullify somebody else's vote: 500 kronas.
2. Split Vote--Split your vote between 2 people, making 2 half votes--250 kronas.
3. Control Vote--control somebody else's vote: 1,000 kronas.
4. Tiebreaker Priority--Each of these items you buy will give you priority if there ever is a tie in voting at Tribal Council when in the game.
5. Extra Final Tribal Council Vote--If you reach the final 2, you'll have 1 extra vote on your side at tribal council: 3,000 kronas. (Note: This one item CAN be purchased until the final 2)

With the shop and auction now in place, player's strategies began to change. It was then that Jon and Megs came up with an idea. The two approached Jamie, who Megs had already made an alliance with back in round 3. The three decided they would agree to form a voting pact in the game. However, it was then that Jamie suggested they include Holly, and Jon and Megs agreed. For the first time ever, a strong alliance had been formed between members from different tribes. However, would it actually hold?

The answer was not made too clear. However, still, the four did agree that that night at Tribal Council, they would all vote for Steven, due to his plotting against Freya in the round before. Holly decided to use her control vote to control Steven's vote, to garuantee that they would get majority. In addition, Jamie, Holly, and Megs tried to get Jose and Charles to vote for Steven too. Jose agreed, but Charles did not turn in his confessionals or vote in time, causing him to get a 2 vote penalty at tribal council.

With all of this in place, could Steven possibly survive another Tribal Council? Would Valerie's vote, casted at the start of the round, change the outcome? Or would something else come up just in time?

The voting proceeded as follows:

Votes for Steven: 5 - Holly, Jose, Jon, Megs, Steven (controlled by Holly)
Votes for Charles: 3 - Charles x's 2, Kelley
Votes for Kelley: 1 - Valerie No vote 1 - Jamie This time, there was nothing Steven could do. Megs and Jon had managed to turn the tables on him completely, and cause him to be voted out of the game. However, now the tribe levels were even again: 4 ex-Freyans and 4 ex-Iduns were in the game, but Steven had been voted out by his own. The group returned to camp, with tension increasing and the Freya group falling apart faster.
