Episode 4 - Sleeping in Stockholm

Day 8 – Istapp

Bright and early in the morning on Istapp, everyone was awake. Marion had gone off into the woods to collect firewood, while Jose and Megs were sitting around the fire once again. Amber had decided to wash some of her clothes, and had gone off to the nearby stream.

“I am nervous right now,” Amber confessed to the camera, as she dipped her clothes into the stream, “because I don’t really know how well Maria likes me. She could love me or hate me. So it’s scary, but I think I’ll be okay, because I’m never going be a target unless I start saying what I feel.”

After Amber had washed her clothes, she returned to find that Maria had just arrived. Having spent the night with Brasa, she was now scheduled to spend the mid-morning to afternoon with Istapp. Marion and Maria were in the corner of the camp, whispering to one another. Amber decided to leave Marion alone to do her dirty work for her, and went into the tribe’s tent to rest.

As this happened, Jose and Megs started to talk about their situation in the game.

“Listen,” Jose whispered to Megs, “I'm pretty sure I'm going to be leaving tonight, because I'm pretty sure Marion and Amber will stick together and I made some mistakes that caused the challenge. Nonetheless, you've seen me work better before, like with the other immunity challenge with the pictures of Sweden. I was wondering if you would like to vote with me this round?”
“So if I stick my neck out for you this time, you have to help me next time?” Megs asked with a smile.
“Well duh!” Jose exclaimed, “I will be forever your servant!”
“How about just my friend?” Megs laughed.
“Okay, just a friend,” Jose smiled.
“But I have one question for you,” Megs asked, “Who would you be voting for if I weren’t immune tonight?”
Jose thought for a moment, then stated, “Probably Amber. She’s the one I’ve talked to and gotten to know the least. Marion is a very good leader, as she has shown before, and you and I have talked more than me and Amber, and I’ve been on the same tribe with you more than I have been with Amber.”
“Well, I have a problem being on this tribe,” Megs said, smiling slightly, “I feel like I have nobody to turn to because you three might be tribal lines and all.”
“Even though me, Amber, and Marion were on the same tribe at the start,” Jose explained, “We never formed any kind of ‘click’. The only people I had anything with were thrown onto other tribes.”

The two continued to talk about their situation for some time, getting to know each other better than ever.
*
Jose: I am basically voting the way I am to save my butt. I think if I can convince Maria and Megs to vote the same way I am then I will stay one more round, but I truly doubt it will work that way. I am pretty sure I am being targetted by both Marion and Amber, and they probably already got Maria. I somehow have to talk to Maria before the vote, but I doubt I'll be able to.
*
Megs: I have a variety of emotions when it comes to this game. The first being love, because I honestly love everyone in this game. The second emotion would have to be frustration because we change tribes, and it makes strategy really hard and your left depending on yourself. I’m just taking it day by day, since you really can’t plan at all with all these insane twists. But really, I just try my best, and that’s all I can expect of me, and hopefully that’s enough for others too.
*

At this point, Maria walked away from talking to Marion. Jose quickly approached her.

“Hey Maria,” Jose greeted her.
“Hey Jose, what’s up?” Maria asked.
“Not much, you?” Jose asked back.
“I just arrived here from the doctor,” Maria stated.
“Oh no, what happened?” Jose questioned.
“I was running a high fever and was dehydrated,” Maria explained.

The two talked for a little while, as Maria told Jose what had happened with her getting sick, then getting voted out by Ben, Steven, and the other Freyans.

“With only four people on my tribe, and one of them with Immunity, I’m 98% sure I’m leaving tonight,” Jose confessed.
“Don’t be so sure,” Maria smiled softly, “Strange things can happen in this game.”
“I wish something would happen,” Jose laughed, “But I guess I have a gut feeling. I kind of messed up the Immunity Challenge, so they all do have a reason to vote me out.”
“Just be positive,” Maria stated.
“When everyone is telling me to be positive, it could only mean trouble,” Jose sighed. He then asked, “Have you been approached by Marion or Amber yet?”
“Marion, but not Amber,” Maria stated.
“Ahh, okay,” Jose said, “I guess that’s why you’re telling me to be positive. You know the plan.”
“No I don’t actually,” Maria said, “Marion is being very tight-lipped. She just keeps asking me things, and she says that I can’t tell you.”
“Oh, okay,” Jose sighed.

Suddenly, the loud honking of a horn was heard. Maria looked up, to see the car that had dropped her off at Istapp had returned.

“I’ve got to go to the first Tribal Council,” Maria said, “The doctors said I shouldn’t be walking much in the snow, so I need to go catch my ride!”
“Okay, I’ll see you later tonight then!” Jose said.

Maria walked off to her personal jeep, and climbed in. The car then drove off to the Tribal Council area, ready for revenge.

Day 8 – Tribal Council #1

Maria’s car pulls up at the Tribal Council area, and she enters inside the ice palace. Here, Cat is already waiting.

“Hello Maria,” Cat smiles at her, “Please take a seat. You shall be voting in both of the two Tribal Councils tonight, meaning you have a double shot at revenge. The first tribe, the Brasa tribe, should be arriving any moment now. Please wait with your torch in hand.”

Maria lights her torch, and takes a seat on one of the benches. Soon, the Brasa tribe does walk in: Kelley, Steven, Valerie, and Felipe. All of them light their torches in the fire, and take a seat. Felipe takes a seat next to Maria, and Maria smiles, glad to see her friend.

“Hello, and welcome to your first Tribal Council as the Brasa tribe, also the fourth of the game,” Cat says, beginning the ceremony, “Obviously, a lot of changes have occurred since last round, including the new tribes. Kelley, what was your reaction to the new tribes?”
"I like this tribe and everyone on it,” Kelley states, “I was happy I was put with such a caring and sweet group of people and I'm glad for it."
“Felipe, what happened this week at the immunity challenge?” Cat asks.
“The only thing I can say is NOT ORGANIZED,” Felipe says, “I won’t point fingers and say it was someone’s fault. But the tribe knows whose fault it was. So I wont have to say much."

“Maria, how do you feel about getting to vote out not just one person out tonight, but two?” Cat asks.
“I actually feel real revenge voting out 2 people,” Maria laughs. “It is double revenge; it is a double whammy. They will not know what hit them. Vote out the old lady, and she gets a chance to vote! That is a great revenge vote."
“Steven, how are you basing your vote tonight?” Cat questions.
“I don't feel I can trust the person we are voting out,” Steven answers, “They have betrayed someone else before in the game, and what is stopping them from doing it again?”
“Valerie, what do you think tomorrow will bring in this game?” Cat asks.
“I think tomorrow will bring us a new twist that we will hate at first and grow to love,” Valerie smiles, “Wait, hasn't that been what every tomorrow has been?”

Cat laughs, then says, “Does anyone have anything else they would like to add?”
All of the players shake their heads.
“Then it is time to vote,” Cat smiles, “Felipe, you’re up first!”

Felipe walks up to the voting podium, picks up his pen, and stares down at the parchment of paper for his vote. Swiftly, he writes down the name VALERIE, and displays it proudly to the camera. “Not active and not beneficent for the tribe,” Felipe states, “And for the bigger reason, It's either Val or me who's leaving tonight.” Felipe then places his vote in the voting urn, and walks off.

Next, Steven walks up to the voting podium. Slowly, he writes a name down on his parchment, shows it to the camera, and states a short reason. After placing it in the voting urn, he walks off. His vote is not shown.

After Steven, Maria walks up to the voting podium. She sighs, writes her name on her parchment, folds it carefully, and places it in the voting urn. Her vote is not shown.

Next, Kelley goes up to the voting podium. She sighs, and thinks for a moment as to what to do. Finally, she writes down a name, and places it in the voting urn. As she does, she says, “Good luck in the future, doll!”, and walks back to the Tribal Council area. Her vote is not shown.

Finally, Valerie approaches the voting podium. She snatches the pen, and viciously writes the name FELIPE down on her parchment. “You're an Idun. The rest of us are Freyans,” she spits at the camera, “Do the math, and have good luck for the rest of your life.” She then drops her vote into the urn with a smile, and proudly walks back to the Tribal Council area.

After Valerie has sat back down, Cat says, “I’ll go fetch the votes.”

Soon after, Cat returns with the voting urn, and places it before the players. “Once the votes are read the decision is final,” he states, “That person will be out of the game. However, because of the Delayed Departure twist, they will be staying one more week in the game, as always. I’ll read the votes.”

Cat opens the voting urn, and pulls out the first vote.

“First vote…” Cat says.

VALERIE

Valerie rolls her eyes, seeing she’s gotten yet another vote.

“Second vote…”

FELIPE

Felipe nods his head, expecting the vote. Cat then pulls out the next vote…

VALERIE

“That’s two votes Valerie, one vote Felipe,” Cat says. He then pulls out the next vote…

FELIPE

“Two votes Felipe, two votes Valerie,” Cat says, “Fifth vote…”

“And the fourth person voted out of the game…”

“The first person voted out of the Brasa tribe is…”

FELIPE

“Congrats Val,” Felipe mutters.

“Felipe, I’m sorry to say this, but the tribe has spoken,” Cat says, “However, tonight is not your night to leave the game. Later tonight, after her second Tribal Council, Maria shall be departing. You will get to spend one more round in the game as a part of the Delayed Departure twist. For now, the four of you may head back to camp!”

The three Brasa members and Felipe gather their things, and head back to camp, while Maria waits for the Istapp tribe. Soon, they arrive.

Marion, Amber, Jose, and Megs all enter the Tribal Council area.

“Hello, and welcome to Tribal Council,” Cat says, “Jose, this is your first time. Please grab a torch, and light it in the fire. Fire represents life in this game, without it, you can’t live.”

Once everyone has lit their torches and taken a seat, Cat begins the ceremony: “This week has clearly been stressful for you all, and a challenge in many ways, specifically with the new tribes. Amber, what was your reaction to being split into 3 tribes?”
“Well, it was a shock, cause 3 tribes,” Amber states, “But once you meet everyone, things are all good.”
“Marion, what happened at this rounds Immunity Challenge?” Cat questioned.
“Jose's vanishing definitely caused us to lose this week,” Marion says bluntly, “The winning tribe finished before Jose even showed because he fell asleep. *sighs* Monitor your sleep better. I can and I am in more AP classes.”

“Jose, do you think you will be voted out tonight?” Cat asks.
“I think I WILL be voted out. I had major fault in not finishing the immunity challenge, so they will use that to kick my behind out of here,” Jose laughs.
“Marion, how are you basing your vote tonight?” Cat questions.
"1) Jose botched the immunity challenge. We might not be here if it wasn't for him.” Marion states, “That's the main reason I picked him. 2) You're as smart as I am which is a threat."

“Megs,” Cat finally asks, “what do you think tomorrow will bring in the game?”
“I think this game is so unpredictable, the only thing you really can predict is that there’s a change. Something is always changing, and if you can adapt to the change you'll be great and set in stone, if not you'll crumble like sand.”
“With that said, does anyone have anything else they’d like to add?” Cat asks.
Everyone shakes their head, indicating no. “Then it is time to vote,” Cat says, “Amber, you’re first.”

Amber approaches the voting podium. Here, she writes down the name JOSE on her parchment. “I hated this,” Amber says, “Because Megs should be leaving, but it was a toss up between you and her, and it looks like you are leaving. Sorry Jose, nothing persona.” She then places her vote in the voting urn, and returns to her seat.

Next, Megs approaches the voting podium. She writes down the name AMBER on her parchment. “Amber you’re really nice,” Meg says, “but when I asked you questions, I asked you to be honest-- and I don’t know if you were honest. You seemed to give me safe answers and it wasn’t the truth. You were really nice and I liked getting to know you, but I think I really have to do this to get where I want in this game. I'm really sorry, I still want to be friends though.” She then places her vote into the voting urn too, and returns to her seat.

After her, Marion comes up to the voting podium. She swiftly puts JOSE down on her parchment, then says to the camera, “You're a threat because you are so smart, and I felt you did terrible because you fell asleep in last immunity and that's why we failed.” She then folds her vote, places it into the voting urn, and returns to her seat.

Next, Jose takes his turn to vote. At the voting podium, he writes AMBER on his parchment, then says, “Because I will hopefully get Megs to vote with me, and I so hope Maria does too, and I will be able to stop them from voting me out.” He then places his vote into the voting urn, and like the others, returns to his seat.

Finally, it is Maria’s turn to vote. She approaches the voting podium one final time. Taking her pen, she writes a name down for her vote, smiles at the camera, and places it into the voting urn. Then, she returns to her seat. Her vote is not shown.

Once Maria has sat back down, Cat says, “I’ll go fetch the votes.”

Cat steps away from the Tribal Council area to get the voting urn, as the others sit in silence. None of them have a sure idea as to how the vote will go, except for one: Maria.

Soon, Cat returns with the votes, and begins to read them. “Once the votes are read the decision is final. That person will be out of the game. However, because of the Delayed Departure twist, they will be staying one more week in the game, as always. I’ll read the votes.”

Cat opens the urn, and pulls out the first vote…

JOSE

Jose nodded, expecting the vote.

“Second vote…” Cat says.

AMBER

Amber smiles. She knew, too, that she would be getting a few votes tonight.

“Third Vote…”

AMBER

“That’s two votes Amber, one vote Jose.” Cat says.

“Fourth Vote…”

JOSE

“Fifth vote…”

Cat looks at the vote, as his eyes widen.

“And the first person voted out of the Istapp tribe…”

“…and the fifth person voted out of the game is…”

Cat turns the vote over to reveal it…

…Megs gasps, and Marion’s eyes widen…

AMBER

Amber hangs her head, as Jose stares at the vote in disbelief. He looks over at Maria, who is smiling proudly.

“Thank you,” Jose quietly whispers to Maria.

“Amber, I’m sorry to say this,” Cat says, “But the tribe has spoken. However, tonight, you will not be leaving. Instead, Maria shall be. Maria, please bring me your torch.”

Maria gathers her things. As she does, she whispers something into Amber’s ear, then walks over to Cat.

“Maria, it is time for you to go home,” Cat says. He places the torch-snuffer over Maria’s torch, and puts it out permanently. Maria then exits the Tribal Council area.

At this point, Marion blabbers out her thoughts, “Cat, sorry, but I demand a recount. I voted for Jose, Maria voted for Jose, and Amber didn’t vote for herself of course.”

“Marion, I read the votes,” Cat replies, “I don’t know what to say, but Amber has been voted out. For now, you need to go back to camp.”

Megs, Marion, and Jose all collect their things. However, Amber stays back for a moment to talk to Cat.

“Cat,” Amber says, “I don’t think this was quite fair. Maria told me before she left that she meant to vote for Jose, but because she was sick she voted for me.”
“I don’t know what to say about that,” Cat says, “But I’ll ask her first to see if it’s true. For now, you need to go back to camp with Istapp.”

Amber nods, and then exits. Meanwhile, Cat goes after Maria, who has just finished giving her final words.

“Hey Maria,” Cat says.
“Hey,” Maria says, smiling at Cat.
“How are you doing?” Cat asks.
“Tired, but okay,” Maria states, “I guess Marion was pissed at me for my vote.”
“I can’t say,” Cat states, “But I actually wanted to ask you about that. Amber told me after Tribal Council that you had voted for Amber as a mistake, and that it was meant to be for Jose. Is that true?”
“No, I wanted to vote for Amber,” Maria explains, “At first I wanted to vote for Jose, but then I changed my mind and voted for Amber.”
“Oh okay,” Cat says, “Out of curiosity, why exactly?”
“Because of the things I heard Amber and Marion saying about me, while Megs and Jose never said anything bad about me and never tried to intimidate me,” Maria states, “I have to play the game right.”
“Especially after you’ve been voted out I’m guessing,” Cat nods, understanding what Maria’s saying.
“Yeah,” Maria smiles, “Sorry, but revenge is sweet! That’s why I loved your game.”
“Thanks,” Cat says, and laughs, “I’ll be honest though, they still don’t know if you really meant to vote for Amber or Jose. Would it be okay then if I included this in the episodes, just to clear the confusion up?”
“Yeah, sure!” Maria agreed.
“Anyways, I have to go off and eat dinner now, and I’m sure you’re a bit hungry too!” Cat smiles, “I’ll have to talk to you later!”
“Bye, and I’ll see you!” Maria grins.
“Bye,” Cat replies.

With the mystery solved, Cat walks away, to return to the game. Still 10 people remained playing the game. There would be room for one to win. Who would be voted out next would be anyone’s guess, but tomorrow would tell all…
