Guadeloupe - Page 2Iles des Saintes
 
These pictures are from the main island of Les Saintes, Terre-de-Haut. The town, Bourg, is very nice and has lots of small shops (great ice cream cones) and a pretty beach, although it can get crowded and the motor scooters are a scourge. 
 
 
These above shots are from the climb to Fort Napoleon on Terre-de-Haut. It was a relatively short climb but in the heat, it was pretty tough. The views though, were spectacular. The fort was also home to MANY iguanas and a small species of snake that surprised (scared) Diane as we walked along. The last shot is of one of the Star Clipper ships, which we saw in a number of places. They actually use those square sails too! |
