You are number:

to visit here since September 7, 2002. Thanks.

This is our web site to bring you the comings and goings of our Caribbean cruise, that began November 1, 2000.

Summary - Our first passage was to Bermuda from Connecticut, where the boat stayed while we went back to the States.

We came back to the boat in January 2001 and voyaged to St. Martin/St. Maarten and from there to Antigua, Guadeloupe, Iles des Saintes, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, Bequia, Mayreau, the Tobago Cays, Union, Carriacou, Grenada and Trinidad.

In December 2001, we went north a bit, stopping at Grenada, Bequia, St. Lucia and then staying some months in Martinique.

We went south again in April 2002, seeing St. Lucia, Bequia, Canouan, Mayreau, the Tobago Cays, Petit St. Vincent (visiting Petite Martinique), Grenada and finally arriving in Trinidad.

We finally went west to Venezuela in July 2002, stopping in Los Testigos, Margarita, Chimana Grande and Puerto La Cruz. We flew back home in late July, and were back in Puerto La Cruz in October 2002 and saw some more of the country - El Golfo de Cariaco and Isla La Blanquilla.

We left Venezuela for Trinidad in December 2002 because of the national strike, and stayed in Trinidad for Carnival and more boat work.

In April 2003, it was back to Venezuela - Los Testigos, Margarita, La Blanquilla, La Tortuga and La Borracha before stopping in Puerto La Cruz.

For August through December, 2003 we visited Islas Los Roques, Islas Las Aves and Bonaire, then going back east to PLC in early January 2004, where we spent the next 7 months. We left again in August to visit Margarita and Laguna Grande briefly (avoiding Hurricane Ivan), and then went west to La Tortuga, Los Roques, Las Aves and Bonaire once more.

We left Bonaire in December, 2004 to go back to Puerto La Cruz where we stayed for 8 months, through September 2005. But we finally got to visit Merida and the Andes this time. We left in September for the loop to Bonaire again.

After some initial difficulty in Bonaire, we stayed for about 2 months and once again made our way back to PLC, arriving in November 2005 this time. We left the boat in PLC on January 28, 2006 and went back to the States for an extended stay.

Where We Are: We arrived in Miami on January 28, while the boat is still in Venezuela - I miss her already. I've done everything I can think of to get her ready for an extended stay in the water at Bahia Redonda Marina. We have a very trustworthy guy and some good friends looking after her - I'm sure she'll be OK. As for Diane and me, its on to California and then New York for a visit and then we'll see...

What's New: My logs and Diane's are now complete through Bonaire, 2005. The 5 year systems report was uploaded recently and now there is a detailed list of what I did to prepare the boat for storage in tropical waters, accessible on The Boat page.

The Future: I'll update these pages with our logs, at least through when we left Venezuela, and then I'll see what other people might like to read.

Destiny

"Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved."
