Martinique Pictures - Winter 2001/2002Ste. Anne
 
 
These images are of Ste. Anne and our walk to Saline Beach. The first shot is the Shrine at the top of the hill overlooking Ste. Anne and the next 2 show some of the wonderful views; in the second picture, Destiny is just visible at the top (the last boat in the anchorage to the north). The 3rd shot shows the Club Med beach and grounds. The 4th shot has some sights found on Saline Beach and the last is some fisherman on a beach near Saline. It shows the ever-present Diamond Rock in the background. Yole Races
 
 
 
These pictures are all of the Yole races we saw, either at Marin or Ste. Anne. The boats are rigged and start from the beach in a real frenzy. The 4th picture shows that they don't all make it. If they turn over, they must be dragged back to shore by chase boats. The last shot shows some of our friends, Clyffe and Anna (front) and Jim and Jacque (middle). There were about 6 dinghies in that raft, all watching the races. |
