Tobago Cays

These pictures illustrate only some of the beauty of the Tobago Cays. The rest is shown in the underwater shots I have on this page. I hope some of the special qualities hopefully shine through. The first picture just attempts to give an idea of the colors of the water and sky. The second is one of the small islands, Jamesby, that makes up the Cays. The third is a boat, Mutual Fun, belonging to some friends, Bob and Mona, against a magnificent sky. The last is a view toward the south showing some of the anchorage with Petit Martinique and Carriacou in the background.

Baradel

These next shots were taken on another cay called Baradel that had a small path up to the top, maybe 200 feet vertically. The first is the beach there and the second is of some Century Plants that were growing. The Cays were all very dry and cactus and other hardy plants were the only ones that could grow. No fresh water at all except what little rainfall they got. The third is the reef just out from the island looking out toward Horseshoe Reef (you can see the breakers there) and another tiny island called Petit Tabac in the distance. The only land beyond that is Africa. The last shot is a local boat tied up to his "mooring."

Anchorage

These shots of the anchorage show different views with a tropical wave on the way. The first, second and last shots are just dramatic ones of the sky as the wave approached. The third is looking south over the anchorage with Destiny the second boat up on the right side, while the last looks north and you can see the island of Canouan in the distant background.
