Venezuela 2005 - El Paramo
El Trigal

This is the first place we stayed. The first shot is Irene and her granddaughter and the last is our guide for the first trip, Venancio.
Aguita Azul

This is the second mucuposada. That's Iris, her daughter Maria (trying to control the dogs) and Diane.
El Nidal de Gavilan

This is the last mucuposada were we stayed. That's Rosalva and her daughter, Rosa, in the last shot.
The Mountains

These are some shots I took on our trek through the mountains. The first is our guide on the second day, Duglas, with Diane at the rest stop on the way up. The next is the lake were we had lunch and then that's us on the first day's horses - look how small mine is. The next picture shows the unique plant of the paramo, El Frailejon (the Friar), almost in bloom. The next few are some beautiful views we had on the trail and the last is taken from El Nidal. On the far left, you can see a stone wall extending up into the mountains, right beside it was the trail we took down extending far beyond the high ridge in the background.
