Venezuela 2003-Caracas and Colonial Tovar
Caracas

These are from one of our visits to Caracas. The top photos are from a suburb of Caracas called El Hatillo, where we walked frequently. It was a very pretty little town where we could get delicious pastries and walk easily and safely. The third picture is the municipal building in central Caracas, where the National Assembly meets - it was very impressive. The next are from our trip up to the top of El Avila (a mountain just south of Caracas) with our friend Giulio's daughter, Samantha, and her boyfriend Miguel. The view was terrific and the trip down the cable car was very nice with a great viw of the city below.
Colonial Tovar

These are from the little town of Tovar, located a little outside Caracas to the west. It was founded by a group of German settlers in the last century that was very isolated up until about 30 years ago. Now of course, its very touristy but still attractive and has a fascinating history.
