Venezuela 2004 - Trip West to Bonaire

Back Through Los Roques and Las Aves

The first shot is in El Golfo De Cariaco, early in the morning, heading toward Laguna Grande where we rode out Hurricane Ivan. The second is of the hills around Laguna Grande, showing the wonderful early morning colors.

These pictures are all from Cayo de Agua in the Los Roques achipelago. We were alone in the anchorage for some time and Diane took advantage of the clear warm water, as you can see in the second shot. The last picture shows why we love it here so much - its just beautiful.

These are pictures taken in Las Aves de Barlovento near the large island there. This is where most of the birdlife is found and these are taken along the shore and a little inland.

These are also from Las Aves de Barlovento, but out on the reef near the Blue Hole. There was a pod of Dolphins that visited us twice and the second shot shows Destiny anchored behind the Blue Hole - part of the deeper blue water and reef is visible in front of the boat.

Finally, a Las Aves sunset.
