Venezuela 2005 - In Puerto La Cruz

We came back to PLC before Christmas this year so we could see friends and go to parties - well, that's what we did.

These are shots I took at the bullfight (well, maybe not the first - that's me on a mechanical bull that Roberto from the marina restaurant got in one day; my ride didn't last too long). The real bull fight shows the opening, the matador and other people that 'fought' the bull. The last fight was the most interesting, a man on a wonderfully trained horse, with no protection, that gave a good show.

These shots, and the next few are from our haulout at AquaVi.

The seond set show some of the blisters I had to repair - the first is when they were fully prepared; drilled, opened up a little more and cleaned; the next is after all the epoxy and barrier coats.

The top picture shows Destiny , nice and pretty, and ready to go back in the water - new antifouling paint, new boot stripe, topsides compounded and waxed, stainless steel cleaned and waxed, deck cleaned and waxed. The next is Jacko, the yard manager and lift driver, lifting the boat and bringing her over to be launched. Finally, that's Diane with the very nice yard crew, taken while we waited for the paint on the bottom of the keel to dry a little before we launched.

This is just a pretty view from AquaVi of the pretty houses along the canals.
