Dominica is about 26 miles south-southeast of Guadeloupe. Our passage was not pleasant, about 20 knots but at least it was a close reach. We did have 6 to 8 foot seas. Once in the lee, getting into Portsmouth not easy either, since the wind was gusting 30 to 35 knots through the anchorage.

We arrived on April 17 and left April 20 because we anticipated bad winds. The wind wasn't too bad and we probably could have stayed longer. Maybe we'll come back on the way north.

We went next to St. Pierre, Martinique, about 50 away.
