St. Lucia is about 23 miles southwest of Martinique. Our passage here in 2001 was relatively easy since the winds were only 15-18 knots from the southeast.

We enjoyed the island but felt a little "uneasy" in some of the towns outside Castries. It was probably just paranoia, since most of the locals we met were very nice.

We were here from May 18 to June 1, 2001.

We were in Rodney Bay again on March 19, 2002 and left the next day for Bequia (although we didn't intend to).
