Hook-on-a-Necklace, for Joins | |

To Make Your Own: Susan Bates is much better for this than Boye hooks. Clamp the hook down, and drill a hole through the flat part of the handle. Then, saw off the excess. File it so it is smooth, no burrs! Then string it on your favorite necklace! I use a 36 inch steel bead chain, like the kind used on a keychain. You can get tiny splitrings for jewelry at the craft store, so it will slide smoothly on the necklace. I like about a size 10 (1.3mm) hook for size 10-20 threads. For finer threads, like 40 and smaller, I like a size 13 (0.7mm) hook. |
