Looney Tunes Newsletter 20-OCT-98

Hi Everyone,

We got our order from the Studio Stores catalog. For the most part we are very happy. The ornaments and stuff keep getting better in quality every year. It was only in '95 that so many of them had paint that rubbed off. The only 2 items that we thought could be better were the large animated Sylvester and Tweety and the light set. The animated one is very well made but the music plays muffled. To us this isn't a big deal because we don't use the sound but it might matter to others. The light set is washed out looking when you turn them on. They are pretty in the box but I could only recommend them to someone who is getting them for a collection. Everything else though was great. Watch for lots of Marvin items this Christmas-we have some that we saw there listed below.

If you see any new items in stores, have any other news or would like to submit something to the newsletter please email it to me so I can spread the word!
Thanks,
Richard

Seen in Stores

-There is a new Tweety beanie but it is only available at Ceasar's Palace in Las Vegas. It has him dressed as a Roman. I was unable to find a website for them but there is an email address: emperor@caesarspalace.com
-We found 4 new Swirly Straws and Straw Spoons. All are from '96 and '97 but should be available in gift stores. There is a pink straw with Tweety hugging it and a Blue one with Yosemite Sam in a wooden barrel. The Straw Spoons are Taz on a yellow stem and Sylvester on a blue one. All were $1.99 at a nearby toy store.

-Here are some more items from the WB Studio Stores Catalog:

They have the same plush stockings as last year. Red and White with the characters heads on the top. This year though you can have them personalized. Tweety, Taz, Bugs, and Sylvester. $16 plain and $21 personalized.

-We also hit the nearest Studio Store this weekend. There are quite a few ornaments that aren't in the catalog. Plus lots of other Christmas goodies. Everything below is available in all the stores.
They have some baby clothing this year. We saw a bib and some plush slippers. Very cute.
Lots of little knick-knacks and kitchen items. There was an apron, pot holders, towel, 2 different S&P sets(Pepe & Penelope and a Marvin one), 5 jewelry pins, a picture frame magnet, a Marvin Statue(nice polyresin one-It was on a tope shelf so I couldn't see the price), a Marvin stocking(not a plush one though, it has him appliqued on the front), a new Marvin tree topper(this one has him hanging onto a gold star), and socks.

There are a lot of ornaments too:

Looney News

-I have heard a rumour that there will be an animated Marvin out this year but have been unable to track down one. By the description I got it would be another one from Matrix. He is a toymaker and is supposed to be a full sized one which would make him around 20" tall.
-All for the Love of Pepe Le Pew.
http://www.justpepe.com/ This is a nice site dedicated to the great amorous one. Lots of stuff here including 3 PLP themes.
