JAKE AND VICKY'S

SEAN is in his room, on the phone with ALLI. Split screen to show them on the phone talking.

SEAN
They totally freaked out.

ALLI
Sean, you need to hide it better.

SEAN
It was taped under my desk, in my own room. I didn't realize I have absolutely no privacy in this house.

ALLI
You're right. It isn't fair that they didn't even care that Steven and Kirkland went through your stuff.

SEAN
I'm sick of all the double standards, Alli. I need to get out of here.

ALLI
Tonight? It's kinda late.

SEAN
I mean for good.

ALLI
What?

SEAN
I can't live here and pretend we're all one big happy family when I obviously don't belong here.

ALLI
Come on, Sean. Jake and Vicky care about you.

SEAN
No, they don't. They care about the boys and the twins. They don't give a damn about me - especially Vicky.

ALLI
I don't believe that.

SEAN
You don't live here. She's trying to turn Jake against me, so maybe he'll kick me out.

ALLI
You really believe that?

SEAN
You bet I do.

ALLI
So why don't you talk to Jake about it?

SEAN
He'll never listen to anyone who badmouths his precious Vicky. I'm telling you, Alli, if things don't change, I'm going to leave this place - soon.

ALLI
If you do, I'm there with you. My mom totally ditched me tonight. All she wants is to find out who killed Cameron. Matt told her about me ditching and she didn't say a word to me.

SEAN
Let's do it.

ALLI
Do what?

SEAN
Take off. Get out of here. Go somewhere else.

ALLI
I don't know, Sean...

SEAN
What's stopping you? Your mother? She's preoccupied, Al, it'd be days before she even noticed you were gone.

ALLI
Where would we go?

SEAN
We have an entire country to roam. We can go anywhere we want.

ALLI
(a smile crossing her face)
You know...I think you're right. Let's go.

They begin to make plans.

CUT TO:

BAY CITY TOWERS PENTHOUSE/SAME EVENING

The MYSTERY MAN is sitting at his desk, reading a file. We don't see his face, but we see the file, we can see that a picture of Carl and Rachel sits on top of it, in plain view. He holds the picture to the light.

MYSTERY MAN
I think it could be time to show myself to Bay City. After all, there won't be much of a surprise left if Amanda Sinclair keeps up her investigation.

He places the picture back into the file, closing it. As he puts the file down, he reaches next to him and holds a cane in his hand. Standing, he leans heavily on the cane, walking across the room. His face is still shrouded in darkness. He picks up the phone that's across the room, dialing.

MYSTERY MAN
It's me. I'm ready. Can you come tomorrow? Good.

As he replaces the receiver, he goes to the window. When he does, the moonlight shines on his face and we see that he is Reginald Love, older and slightly haggard, but he is definitely Reginald.

REGINALD
(to himself)
The waiting is over. They'll see me soon, whether they want to or not. My darling family will soon be visited.

As he watches the lights of Bay City, we:

CUT TO:

BCUH/SAME EVENING

TITO is standing in the hallway, KC next to him. They are both silent, waiting for news on Hayley. Tito walks away from KC, but she follows him.

KC
You're really worried about her, huh?

TITO
(nodding)
KC...there's something I have to tell you.

KC
About what?

TITO
It's about Hayley...and the baby...KC, the baby's mine.

As KC stares at him in stunned amazement, Lorna rushes in, followed by Matt. As she sees Tito, she immediately grabs him.

LORNA
What happened? How did she collapse?

TITO
(shrugs helplessly)
I don't know...we were just talking...and she got up to leave...and she started having pain..really bad pain. I called an ambulance and tried to keep her quiet...KC tried, too...

LORNA
(turning to KC)
Was she bleeding? Do you know?

KC
I don't know, Lorna, I'm sorry. Dr. Hudson and Dr. Winthrop were here, they're in with her.

LORNA
(covering her hands with her face)
Oh, God...she's got to be all right.

As Matt tries to comfort her, John and Morgan come out of the trauma room. Upon seeing Lorna, they immediately walk over to her.

LORNA (cont'd)
John, Morgan...what's going on? Is she all right?

JOHN
(placing a hand on her arm)
Lorna, it looks like Hayley's gone into premature labor.

LORNA
But it's too early, isn't it?

JOHN
It's a little early, but it's not bad. We need to do an emergency c-section, though. The baby's heartbeat is a little erratic, and we need to take the baby. But as her next of kin, we need you to sign a consent form, Lorna.

Lorna hesitates briefly.

LORNA
All right. Anything, just make sure that Hayley's okay. Can I see her?

MORGAN
For a minute, then we have to get her prepped for surgery.

He leads Lorna into the trauma room, followed by John. Tito turns to KC, who walks away from him, her face emitting betrayal.

CUT TO:

TRAUMA ROOM

HAYLEY is laying on the hospital bed, an IV in her arm. She looks up at Lorna as she enters, her eyes terrified. Lorna leans over her, holding her hand.

LORNA
Hey...how're you doing?

HAYLEY
(her voice shaking)
I'm scared, Lorna...I'm so scared. It hurt worse than anything I've ever felt before.

LORNA
It's all going to be over soon, I promise. They're going to do the C-section, and the baby will be here, and you're going to be fine.

HAYLEY
Can you call Gary and Josie? I want them to be here to see the baby.

LORNA
(nodding)
Right now, I want you to concentrate on yourself, though, all right? I'm going to be right outside, and I'm not leaving you.

HAYLEY
Thank you....

Lorna leans down and kisses her on the forehead.

LORNA
I love you, Hay...remember that.

As she walks out of the trauma room, she fights tears. Seeing Matt outside, she goes into his arms and he holds her tightly.
