
BAY CITY TOWERS/NIGHT
REGINALD is seated at his desk, staring ahead, tapping his
fingers together. The room is half-dark, and on his desk, lie
pictures. As he looks over them, we see pictures of Donna, Vicky,
Marley...and Lila.
REGINALD
(to himself)
Tonight is the beginning. For all of us. A new beginning.
He stands, and walks across the room to an intercom, leaning
heavily on his cane. He pushes a button on the intercom.
REGINALD (cont'd)
Parker...I'd like to see you in here.
A younger man enters, around 25 or 26. He stops in front of
Reginald.
PARKER
Yes, sir?
REGINALD
Parker, I need to be sure that everything is in place for this
evening. Could you ask the driver to be ready in two hours?
PARKER
Yes, sir. Anything else, sir?
REGINALD
I want an arrangement of orchids. Lavender, if you can find them.
Her mother loved orchids.
PARKER
Yes, sir. I'll return, sir.
Reginald watches him leave, then moves back to his desk, reaching
for the phone.
REGINALD
And so, the journey begins...
He begins to dial and we:
