Feeling Well, Activities, Locals, Shopping, and Sign Up FAQs
What if I don’t feel well while in Thailand?
There are many pharmacies and hospitals located throughout Thailand.  It is also usually possible to find an English-speaking doctor as some have studied in the States.  Medical services are also usually less expensive then those elsewhere.  It is very important that you notify Yao in any emergency or ongoing concern so that he may do his best to help.  Also, before you leave check with your medical insurance company to see what medical services are and aren’t covered overseas along with what forms are necessary incase there is a need for overseas medical care.
What if I don't want to participate in all the day’s activities?
It is your choice as long as it does not inconvenience the group.  There are set times to move on to a new place or city with set reservations.  Yao has an itinerary for the group along with scheduled free time so that you may explore on your own. You may also have meals on your own.  Yao will try to accommodate you the best he can.
Will there be a chance to shop and purchase souvenirs?
Of course.  Yao has scheduled time to visit the handicraft village so that you may not only buy local handicrafts but also see how they are handmade.  This may include silk, silver, paper, gems, lacquirware, celadon pottery, and woodcarvings.  In addition, Yao will take you to different markets where you can enjoy bargaining. You may also choose to shop in your free time.
Is it possible to meet local Thai people other than Yao?
Yes.  You will have many opportunities to interact with local Thai people.  In addition to Yao, you will also have a Thai cooking teacher and Thai porters while trekking.  You will also notice that Yao is a very friendly person who likes to talk to just about anyone he comes into contact with.  In addition, since we will be traveling as locals on buses, trains, and song teows, you will encounter many Thai people who are just as curious about you as you may be of them.  See the Thai language page to learn basic Thai phrases.
