Travel Costs, Airlines, Visas, and Vaccinations FAQs
Which airline should I use?
There are several airlines that fly to Thailand.  Although your airline ticket is not included, we can suggest various websites that you may use to buy your ticket or find information.   These include ual.com, nwa.com, expedia.com and orbitz.com.
Will I need to apply for a visa?
Americans do not need a visa to enter Thailand. Upon arrival in Bangkok at Don Muang Airport, immigration officials will automatically grant you a 30-day tourist visa.  If you plan to stay longer, then you can apply for a 2-month tourist visa before you leave the United States at The Thai Embassy in New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles.
Will I need any vaccinations?
Traveling in Thailand does not require any vaccinations. However, it is best to check with your health care physician to be safe as we are not trained to give medical advice.  We do suggest using insect repellant especially while trekking.  Mosquito coils are also helpful, inexpensive, and available at many local markets in Thailand.  In addition, long sleeves and long pants are highly recommended at night while trekking.
