February 2001 Newsletter

Dear Brethren in the Lord,

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Thousands of Filipinos hungry for spiritual truth will find it in the Scripture if only they will learn to seek. Unfortunately, they seek it through a charismatic person named Eliseo Soriano, who became their "answer" for every essential and trivial question they asked. Many pastor are astonished by the growing number of people, Christians and non-Christians alike, who flocked his "Bible Expose" in every part of the country to hear him answer directly from the Bible. I even saw a certain evangelical pastor on television asking questions on Mr. Soriano during his "Itanong Mo Kay Soriano: Bibliya Ang Sasagot" television program. What drives these people to gather around that man? Does he really divide the word of truth rightly? What are his major teachings? Although there are already good booklets authored by Christians dealing with some of the controversies and teachings of this cult group, I believed more are still needed to refute every perverted teaching that he aires every week.

As a starter, I have prepared a tract entitled "Isang Pagsusuri sa mga Katuruan ni Soriano" that will motivate the listening public to check Mr. Soriano's teaching and not just accept what he has to say on every subject. This tract contains an exposure of the Ang Dating Daan founder's belief on Charles Darwin's concept and theory about the age of the earth, his inclination to believe some of the Bible's teachings because of scientific findings, as well as, his view about the Lord Jesus Christ being "a true and mighty god" which makes him to be a polytheist like the Jehovah's Witnesses. This tract will be the first among the many series that I will write pertaining his unbiblical beliefs.

Another tract was also written entitled, "Ang Dating Daan: Daan Nga Ba Patungo kay Jesus?" which focuses his opposition on using biblical hermeneutics in interpreting the Scripture. This also helps the reader on how to conduct his own bible study so he could appreciate the Scripture during his quite moments with the Lord and be grounded in the faith.

Again, I would like to extend the ministry's invitation to offer a free cult-awareness seminar in your church, ministry, or organization. Let me know of your desired topics that you want to be discussed for your church pastors, lay leaders, and members such as the following:
