Dear Brethren,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ!

A Cult Awareness Seminar was held recently at UNIDA Evangelical Church in Tondo last April 21, 2001. The seminar was attended by a number of representative pastors and lay leaders from their different districts. The pastor who contacted me expressed his appreciation even though we have not covered everything due to time insufficiency. The following topics were discussed except for letter (n):

  1. Video showing about witnessing to the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
  2. Understanding the word of God through Bible study.
  3. Apologetics
  4. Mga Katotohanang Dinedepensa ng Mga Kristiyano
  5. Kanino Galing Ang Mga Doktrinang Ating Idinedepensa at Itinuturo?
  6. Ano Ang Mga Kulto ng Kristiyanismo?
  7. Bakit Nagkakaroon ng Mga Kulto ng Kristiyanismo?
  8. Bakit Naaakit na Sumama Ang Mga Tao sa Mga Kulto ng Kristiyanismo?
  9. Bakit Nagkakaroon ng Mga Kulto ng Kristiyanismo?
  10. Mga “Pangangailangang” Naibibigay Diumano ng Mga Kulto ng Kristiyanismo sa Mga Miyembro.
  11. Paaanong Huwag Maaakit Ang Mga Tao sa Mga Kulto ng Kristiyanismo?
  12. Mga Kailangan sa Pagbabahagi ng Katotohanan sa Bawat Miyembro ng Mga Kulto ng Kristiyanismo.
  13. Iglesia Ng Dios Kay Kristo Hesus Saligan at Saligan ng Katotohanan (Ang Dating Daan)
  14. Iglesia ni Cristo (1914)

After the discussion we had an open forum where every listener could ask some questions they wanted to clarify like some of the following:

  1. Do Jehovah’s Witnesses believed in heaven and Hell?
  2. How do you share the gospel with a cultist such as A.D.D. and I.N.C. (1914) member?
  3. Is the Roman Catholic Church a cult?
  4. How will you explain the trinity doctrine in a way that they could easily understand?
  5. Who are the 144,000 according to the Jehovah’s Witnesses?

I do believed that every believer must learn to handle the Word of God correctly while explaining to skeptics and unbelievers alike why they believe what they believed. It is a sad fact today that many Filipinos, including those who have already tasted the Lord’s goodness, have departed from the truth, and follow the doctrines of demons propagated by false teachers. My prayer for every Christian pastor is that to continue equipping their leaders and members so that they can lead others out of the cults into the kingdom of God through Christ.

I am also able to finished different set of tracts suited for cult evangelism. Hopefully, these tracts will reach different provinces nationwide through a local Christian bookstore. Several tract articles will come out soon but some of them are the following:

  1. Jesus Is God (but not the true God) Says I.N.C. (1914) Ministers - this is designed to expose the former teachings of I.N.C. (1914) through their August and November 1939 Pasugo that claims the deity of Jesus by using support verses like Isaiah 9:6 and Hebrews 1:8.
  2. Trinidad Ayon Sa Kapahayagan ng Bibliya - This article briefly explains why the Bible supports the doctrine of the Triune God from the Old Testament to the New Testament.
  3. Ang Dating Daan (Daan Nga Ba Patungo Kay Jesus?) - This refutes the objection of Eliseo Soriano on using biblical hermeneutics in explaining the Scripture. It also helps a person how to conduct his own bible study.
  4. Isang Pagsusuri Sa Mga Katuruan Ni Soriano - A refutation of Eliseo Soriano’s unbiblical explanation about the earth’s age and Christ’s deity.
  5. Ang Mga Kulto ng Kristiyanismo - This article will help every person to know why a group is called a cult of Christianity. They will also be informed about the several cultic groups existing inside the country at present.
  6. Kaligtasan: Ano ang Dapat na Gawin? - This tract article will help a person understand how good works fit in the life of a saved individual.

The Lord continues to pour out His blessing by using an American friend to help support this spiritual discernment ministry in the Philippines on a monthly basis. This is one of the reasons why we continue sending this monthly newsletter to you free and without any obligation. It is also good to know that one Filipina Christian expressed her desire to financially support the ministry as well.
