Introduction
This guide is designed as an ultimate reference for those musicians who own the Yamaha
QS300 Music Production Synthesizer. It was written by me, but includes information from many sources,
most importantly the manuals and inlayed sheets from voice-disks.
Because I'm a proud OctaMED Soundstudio user and I'm using my QS300 with lots of sets
full of different voices (each set consists of 128 sounds), I naturally needed an
index
of those voices available in my storage. Because of the Soundstudio's launching external
programs possibility this idea went me to make an file in Amiga-guide format for easy
use. Later (after it was finished) I've decided to upload this file into Aminet-sites,
because I assume someone could enjoy it. If you find
this useful, contact me !
I have tried my best to ensure all information contained is correct. However I do not
take responsibility for any incorrect information (if so, let me know).
I hope to be able to continue updating this for as long as I own my QS300.
HTML version
It's a couple of months ago I've turned to PC and that's why I've decided to convert the
original Amiga-guide document to HTML, which is the PC's leader one. Besides, PC musicians
aren't dependent on special utilities that can display Amiga-guide documents now. Why HTML
and not an Excel file, for example? The reason is very simple: HTML is free and can be
easily used among various computer platforms. And by the way, HTML document's size is the
second argument. I hope you will enjoy it as it is and help me to find bugs (bugs in table
items or grammatical mistakes) or rework the layout (I'm still trying to improve it, but I'm
not an efficient graphic designer). Thanks go to all the people supporting me with QS300 files and
Jan Mocnak, who made a beautiful button design.
On-line and off-line versions
And now, to make this list available for nearly everyone, here is an on-line (internet) version
of the QS300 Voices. Besides, you still have a possibility to download an off-line file version in one
zipped package right here (over 240KB).
The file has been released as an public document. You are free to post it or send it wherever you want
as long as credit for the work remains with myself. In addition, if you want to include this guide on
any software-collection (CD-ROMs etc), you should ask me for permission first.
Contact
If you have any comments, bug and grammar reports etc, feel free to send me a note. People who want to
swap any QS300 related files (such as voice sets, songs or phrases) are especially welcome. Remember,
that this is the first initial release, all things are still in progress - mainly because of getting
several new voice sets. Be patient, please.
