A magical theme
So,
what are we doing with the baby's room? After going through much debate,
and starting with a farm animal theme, we moved on to something that even
George finds cool. We're doing a "magic" theme. Stars, moons,
wizards, dragons. The colors focus on primaries, but we've mixed in some
softer blues and yellows. Basically, it's a big mix, which is fine by
me.
The room is going to contain:
- a great mural from Mom M.
- a wonderful starry quilt from Heather G.
- a beautiful castle quilt from Aunt Kim and Uncle Paul.
- starry curtains from Mommy, and starry crib sheets
from Mom M.
- a dresser from Gramma D. that will be painted in bright colors
Junior is definitely going to be well-loved, if all of the homemade articles
is any indication!
The best part about all of this, as far as George is concerned, is that
he doesn't have to pick up a paintbrush, or "wallpaper shit."
Everyone's happy!

Curtains. This is the fabric that I'm using for the curtains.
It has a little bit of sparkle to it, and just seemed like a fun
fabric to have in a baby's room. Heather guided me along in my sewing
efforts to make the curtains...otherwise, it could have been fairly
disastrous.
George and I actually hung the curtains March 4. There was only
a little bit of swearing involved.

Heather's Quilt. This is the fabric that Heather and I picked
out (at Walmart!) for the quilt border. It gives you an idea of
the colors that I'm trying to use for the baby's room...primary.
In fact, Heather liked it so much, she's using it for Keegan's
curtains.
