Our Founder and Director
Marie N. Lamothe, Executive Director
When our founder, Marie Lamothe, was a child in her
native Haiti, she heard about a man who died after lying under a tree outside a
health clinic for two days, because he could not get into the vastly
overcrowded, desperately understaffed clinic. This made a lifelong impression on
Marie, and she has dedicated her professional career to founding and developing
a community health clinic to serve low income people who would not otherwise
have access to quality medical care. Marie assumed ownership of Compton Central
Community Health Center and converted it into a non-profit community clinic.
Before becoming the director of Compton Central Community Health Center, Marie
Lamothe worked as an Administrator at the Sunshine Medical Group. Future plans
include establishing a health clinic in Haiti.
