FINDING SCHOLARSHIPS
Finding scholarships doesn't have to be
difficult, especially if you know where to look!
The RADS has made your task easier by providing you with several
links to Canada's top scholarship search
engines.
In addition, there are several other places
where you can look for information concerning scholarships and bursaries:
- your high school guidance office
- contact the Awards Office of the
university of your choice
- ask your parents (some employers/unions
offer scholarships to their employees'/members' children)
- books
Start looking
early! Start in July or early August as some scholarship deadlines are very
early in the school year.
Once you have found the scholarships, you
must contact the organizations for more information. By following the
outlined procedure you will hopefully get a quick response:
- Get the mailing address of the
organization
- Write a short
letter requesting more information and an
application form. Remember to set a good impression. Keep it neat and
clean; preferably typed.
- Mail the letter and a self-addressed
stamped envelope to the organization.
