These pages are presented by an ex-cop for cops, future cops or any one just interested in Police work.. To be a member of any police force in a democratic society is a privilege. You can do many good things for, and help many people. You will be surprised at how people respond to a helpful Police Officer. Most American States and Cities have the motto 'To Serve and to Protect'. In South Australia the Police motto is 'Salus Populi Suprema Lex' or translated - 'The Safety of the People is the highest law'.

Today no society can exist without a police force and no police foce can exist without the support of the public.

If you want to listen to live police action click on the American Police Beat (APB) graphic below and then select from a number of U.S Police Departments. It adds to the effect whilst browsing these pages. You will need Real Player G2 to listen and a bit of patience while it loads but it is well worth the wait. If you don't have Real Player get it here.

Australia consists of 6 States and 2 Territories and each of these has its own Police Force. Australia also has a federal police force - The Australian Federal Police
