        The "Epic Saga" Books of Blood has just been released along with
the first 2 variations of Chapters one and two... I know it's good and
packed with tons of cool stuff as well as alot of tricks and secrets...
probably more than anyone will ever discover.....  B U M M E R !
I don't want all that inspiration and work to go to waste... and knowing
how much gamers love cluebooks, hints, cheats, etc. etc. I can't think of 
a more perfect way to give Dungeon Master players what they want (before
they demand it  than writing this "Clue Book" the Confessions of BoB.

BoB Basics
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There is so much packed into BoB that it's hard to know where to start or 
how much to reveal... I know discovering the secrets is a big part of a 
games excitement and thrill so just some basics common to All the BoB mods
is probably the best place to start.

ITEMS:
^^^^^^
Items are probably one of the most essential elements in BoB modules...
some are required to complete chapter 1 (First Blood!) and others are just
downright cool to find and use!  There are alot of items that can be bought
and found in the game as well as quite a few that can only be aquired after 
completing specific tasks. Many of them can be Used!

This is but a small list or sampling of items you'll find in BoB.

Items in the Equipment Shoppe
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SMALL SHIELD: 

This innocent looking shield is really enchanted and relativly cheap ($250). 
Not only does it provide +1 Armor but has 5 charges of the Mystic Shield 
Spell! Perfect for begining players or when you've run out of Spell points 
in the Dungeon.

GREEN POTION:

A Very good healing potion has 5 charges of the Breath of Life Spell and can
be used in Combat if Equiped. For $500 it can be an economical alternative to
visiting the Healers Temple when restoring alot of hit points.

SCROLL OF PROTECTION:

Though a bit expensive it cast the Ancient Spell Guardian Angel which is much 
more powerful and last much longer than the Mystic Shield Spell. A MUST HAVE
in the early stages of the Arena of Blood Tournament Variation.

Items found after successful encounters
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

SCROLL OF BLOOD:

A common item that can be used 5 times to cast HEAL. It can also be found in
the Arena Grounds and the Warrior's Haven. It also serves as the "papers" 
needed to enter the Arena of Blood to attempt one of the 5 Trials.

TELEPORT SCROLL:

This Scroll has 2 charges of the Ancient Spell Dimensional Warp and can
Teleport a player to Any Location he can Identify. However, it has been
said the Scroll is a bit unstable and if a player doesn't take great care
in it's use and handling might find himself rematerializing in Solid Rock!

ELFIN MAIL:

This Armor has the same +5 Armor Class as Plate Mail as well as +1 Hit and 
10 charges of the Mystic Shield Spell. Just about the best Armor in the Game
but not Quite!

DEATH SWORD:

A two-edged sword much better than the Long Sword with +1 Hit and 5 charges
of the Kiss of Death Spell. However because of the Fatal Nature of the Spell
it cast has a -1 Armor Class.

Items that can Only be Aquired
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

WARRIOR'S RING:

This Ring is found in the Training Grounds and is the First of Five Items
needed to complete FIRST BLOOD!  It provides +1 Armor and has 5 charges of
a Dimensional Warp Spell that Teleports the wearer to the Sanctuary.

BLOOD SWORD:

The Best Weapon in the BoB Series and also required to complete FIRST BLOOD!
It Provides +1 Armor and +2 Hists as well as 10 charges of the Storm Strike
Spell.

GAUNLETS OF PAIN:

The Only Glove in the BoB Series becomes available in the Warrior's Haven
after the Second Trial of the Arena of Blood has been completed.
Provides +1 Armor, +1 Hits, and 10 Charges of the Acid Rain Spell.

ARMAGEDDON HORN:

This Legendary Horn can only be found in the Ancient Domain and it's power
is Devastating! Until it is Sounded the Ancient Evil of the Ancients will
never be found or Laid to Rest!

These are but a small sampling of the items to be found and used with over
45 (to date) carefully designed items specifically for the Books of Blood.

SPELLS:
^^^^^^^
Spells are also an integral element in BoB, with over 30 spells that have
been painstakingly thought out, designed and tested to be both useful and
diverse. It is possible to have up to 10 active spells while traveling as
well as a wide range of offensive spells used in combat.
Spell Codes are as natural as possible so they are easy to remember with 
detailed descriptions available in the Spell Book.
In addition there are 10 very powerful "Ancient" Spells beyond those that
can be learned through Spell Procurment and the Magic Shoppe.
But only those that can survive the Dangers of the Labyrnth and the Evils 
of the Ancient Domain have any chance of learning them.

BOOKS AND SCROLLS:
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

There are quite a few Books and Scrolls to be found and used in BoB...
The Library in the Sanctuary is the most easily accessable sorce of books
and provide information and insight into the Realm and it's mysteries.
You must first look at the List before you will ever find a book, and
Every book on the List IS in the Library. However, due to their mystical
Nature some of the books may not be visible until the time is right.
Sometimes if you look to long they may ALL become hidden, at such time
you should leave and return another day. Other books can be found in the
Training Ground, the Warrior's Haven, and the Labrynth of Blood. Each book
will reveal some small bit of helpful information related to the Chapter 
in which they are Found. There are also a number of Scrolls that can be 
found. Even if you do not understand the words you see, you should attempt
to read each one at least once, and return to the Library until you have
seen each book on the List. And if You are Stumped by the few "Riddles"
or Questions you may have to Answer to Pass a "Test" be sure to Look in 
the Books... All the Answers are revealed in BOLD FACE LETTERS!

ALTARS:
^^^^^^^
There are a Number of Altars scattered through the Realm to Aid Warriors
on thier Quest. One in the Training Grounds near the Entrance to the 
Dungeons, Three in the Inner Sanctum of the Sanctuary, and One in the
Warrior's Haven. Not All will be readily available but use the ones you
find but use them wisely... DO NOT Abuse thier Power!

MAGIC PORTALS:
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
There are Many Magic Portals. Some You will not be able to Enter right away.
All of the Portals You Find Before you have the Mark of Blood are Stable.
Once you Have the Mark a Portal in the Sanctuary Leads to the Arena of Blood
and the Abyss of Blood in the Catecombs leads to the Labyrnth. There are 
Many Portals in the Labyrnth but they seems to be a little strange in that
they don't always send you to the same location.

MAPS:

The Maps in BoB are Very Useful. Not Only do they show you where you've been
but they reveal many details about what you may have encountered in those
locations. There is even a chance that your maps will reveal secrets you may
have missed when you passed a certain location. I've tried to make them rich
with symbols that can be easily deciphered.

                        ---- Parting Words ----

        These "Basics" Should be enough to give any DM player a good
        start into the Books of Blood.  I do intend to reveal more in
        the next part of the "Confessions" but it is a more difficult
        task than I first invisioned and I want to get something out
        to players before I get bogged down or lost with the myriad
        discriptions and detail that I have worked into Books of Blood.
        I will try to resume soon by revealing some detailed tips and
        tactics One Chapter at a Time beginning with First Blood! I've
        also been asked (and would like to attempt) to write a sort of
        Guide to Building DM modules, and I also want to finish my
        Variation of chapter 3, as well as Build Books of Blood II.
        Too many things I want to do... and so little time... alas.
