Description:

The Wilds of the Blue is the second largest barbarian nation of Kaladia. Their lands stretch from the Juvirrin Sea and Ultanic Ocean nearly to the edge of the Tylyryn Sea. This great expanse is Kaladia's eastern grasslands, a wilderness of gently rolling hills blanketed by tall, thick, plains brush and speckled with small, dense copses of evergreens and deciduous broadleafs. The grasslands are nearly surrounded by the Aaratana Mountains and Evesyarn Forest to the north, the Sylvbriar Forest to the south, and the Bluestone Mountains to the east. The elfanir and dwarn of these regions are friendly with the Blue, and often trade with the barbarians.

The Blue have few cities and towns, preferring their nomadic lifestyle to a settled existence. The clans often follow the herds of bison or pronghorn antelopes, but tend to make circular treks, stopping briefly in the same areas each season. The barbarians of the Wilds of the Blue can be a difficult people. There are over seventy clans of the Blue, and not all live in harmony with each other. The chieftans of the seven great tribes hold their people together with strength, wit, determination, and the common threads of survival. They have fought viciously to preserve their lands in the past, and the Tulmarian states of southeast Kaladia have learned to respect the might of the combined clans of the Blue.

The words of the chieftans, as with their sway over the clans, is not always absolute. The tribe of the Blood Moons, and their battle with the other clans of the Blue is the best example of the fiercely independent nature of the Blue clans. Their aggressions have not always been strictly to preserve their lands, for the Blue have raided into the nation of Eirinland, and attacked caravans on the imperial trade-way, seemingly without provocation. And they allow the caravans on the salt route through their own lands to pass unmolested. Of the Blue, few things can be said with certainty. The clans war with one another, but will stand against a common foe. What one clan readily accepts, another will bitterly oppose. They are a people whose interests are as diverse and expansive as the lands they claim.
