Chandria

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Chandria is a world that I created in a game that ran for over 3 months. It is unique in the fact that (some) humans and vampires have learned to coexist. The level of technology is at least equal to Rifts Earth, with a few technological advancements which are unknown on Earth. The geography is very diverse and ranges from mountains, to planes, deserts, arctic regions, and one area called the Waste. Cities range in size from tiny one street villages, to teeming mega-cities (such as the capital) that house millions of people.

Kralazon: the capitol of the largest Chandrian kingdom is a gigantic mega-city with millions of people packed within its walls. The city is situated directly on (and a little over) the coast. Chandria's structure is continually changing, with new levels being added, and some being renovated and continually cleaned. There is a concerted effort to keep the city clean, but generally the farther down you go in the levels, the dirtier it gets. This is not because of less cleaning, but because of the types of people who frequent the lower levels. The 'undersides' or 'undersiders' are the equivalent of City Rats and similar people. From about Level 30 on down, the nicely kept shops, walkways, and service buildings generally give way to a sprawl of neon lights, off-beat shops and chaotic activity. Buildings are interconnected with a thick web of roads, walkways and service tunnels, with one being able to look down at least a few levels over railings. That is the basic layout of the entire city, with the 'streets' being the open sections in between the maze of walkways. The main mode of transportation for the regular populace is walking. But for those that can afford it, there are silver hover disks about an inch thick. The open areas between the walkways are frequented by the people on these disks, and they are generally considered the more socially elite. Thus the reason for the disks: so they don't have to mingle with the "commoners".

Multi-level roads filled with more conventional means of transportation (both wheeled and hover) create a web throughout every level of the city. While above the city a grid of flight patterns allows flying vehicles and/or creatures to travel.
