| Ronald Raymond and Martin Stein were fused
together into an entity called Firestorm when a nuclear reactor had a meltdown and they
were caught in the radiation. Ronald controlled the physical aspects of the hero while
Stein provided advice. They eventually ended up joining the Justice League of America.
Some time later, Firestorm was caugght in a nuclear blast and professor Stein was knocked
out of the equation, a Russian superhero becoming the silent partner of Ronald. This
changed the balance of things and eventually caused the professor to end up becoming the
sole power behind Firestorm and turning into a fire elemental. Ronald lost all of his
powers and disappeared into the woodwork for quite some time. He became a model named
Ronray and turned into a household name. Then, he developed leukemia and was dying. Close
to death, he suddenly regained his ability to turn into Firestorm. This time, however, it
was just him piloting. |
