Welcome to my

SABER MARIONETTE J SHRINE

NEWS:

AAAAHHHHHH!!!!! I got it!!! Saber Marionette J to X... it is soooo cool. It follows the other storylines and continues the really cool series. The artwork is a litlle different, but the characters still look the same - just simplified a bit. The artwork is still great too. Click on the example above to see how they look now.

Oh man!!!! Tsukasa Kotobuki is going to be here in the U.S. at Animecentral Con in April!!! He is the Character designer and illustrator for Saber Marionette J, OAV, and J to X!!! I only wish I were rich so I could go... or at least live near there.

Here is a banner to the fansub distributor with really good copies of Saber Marionette J to X!!!

As far as I can tell, there are still no copies of this available in stores - so if you want it you should go to ANIMEVILLAGE.COM and order it. Shinsen Gumi used to carry the fansubs, but now they can no longer distribute... BIG NEWS!!! The first tape of SABER MARIONETTE J to X is fansubbed. I am trying to get a copy and will post the fansub site as soon as I get stuff settled here (and find it again ^_^). Since it has become one of my fav's I will probably make the page bigger. I am trying for the webring right now too.

CLICK HERE AND ORDER THIS SHOW - It is TOTALLY COOL!!!

This has become one of my most favorite anime. The show is about a planet where only men exist... all females are androids (marionettes) - it happened when a ship that left Earth due to overpopulation had problems and a shuttle managed to crash on a nearby planet - leaving only 6 male scientists... cloning helped them rebuild a civilization of 6 colonies. The above mentioned Marionettes are mainly servants - showing no emotion except for the higher intelligent palace guards, who show little, but interact with others - our main character, Otaru manages to stumble on to one and awaken it... Lime; she has emotions and is at first thought just to be defective junk - he then manages to awaken Cherry and Bloodberry - they too have emotions - and it is discovered that they have a "Maiden Circuit" or "Virgin Circuit" (in fansubs) which allows them emotion and love. A neighboring colony who is planning for war also has 3 such Marionettes - so begins our story...

As it would seem the females (or marionettes) take the spotlight, I will spend more time on them - anyhow they are all total babes!!!

JUST CLICK on the character pics for their pages....

It has a feel much like Tenchi Muyo in that it has one central male character with several females wanting his affections - this show throws in a male wanting it as well (yep, you heard right). The characters are great - the animation is good in the T.V. series -great in the OVA, with it's own twist - it's cool.

The underlying story is about emotion - the marionettes descovering them for the first time. This helps the storyline, since most series try to put "filler material episodes" in to make more episodes and seperate major events. Many do nothing more than waste time - leaving little for the actual plot at hand or developement... NOT HERE. The extra episodes offer to the main story - for the interaction of the marionettes and their emotional growth.

Here's a pic of the game...which I now have - LUCKY ME!!! This game is supposedly out of print - took a long time to find a copy... it is an "aged" title, although the graphics are weak with seperate "joints" rather than seemless, they are still decent and are textured well. They should never have allowed to make "big bodyparts" as an option though - it shows the lack of visual power - yuck, big feet? or big arms? Luckily this can be turned off. Fighting games based off anime should have more respect toward character design... when will they learn. It looks better than Kenshin did though in some ways. I got the special version I guess cuz mine had figures and art cards with it ^_^. It is great for a fan, but not for a fighting game freak looking for the perfect game. Now if I could just get the codes to work!!!!

Like I said - this is now one of my very favorites. It is extremely funny, and touching at times. The animation is decent in the beginning, but gets a lot better later (for a t.v. series). It really is worth getting. The OAV's are also wonderful - I can hardly wait for the Saber Marionette J 2 to be available!!!!

I ran into a really cool Webpage for Saber Marionette J - it has a lot more pics and music... even a winamp skin!!!! Check it out... just click below.

If you wish to hear the theme song in MP2 format, check my links page.... it is for another Saber Marionette J page - it's cool!!!
