Matarael is the 9th Angel that comes to challenge Nerv's headquarter after Ramiel. Basically, the shape of Matarael looks like a 4 legs spider. Matarael is very huge and as tall as the tallest building in Tokyo-3.

Eyes can be found everywhere on his body but only one of his eyes which is located in the bottom of his body can secrete high concentration acid. Matarael come to Tokyo-3 not only to challenge Nerv's headquarter by pouring acids on them but also want to find Adam.

Matarael's A.T.Field is very weak, normal weapons like Palette Rifle of EVA can easily finish him. High concentration acid and the claws of his legs are his only weapons, besides these, no other weapons can be found in his body. Matarael's weak point is his main eye which is also known as the red core.
