Profile: In the early 90s, King had already come a long way in the world. His history as a whole is left a mystery, but a few things can be certain. Trained in the way of the Samurai, King was eventually in protection of Shinto shrine in Japan. Well traveled, he was at some point sealed as a Demon deep inside a cave near the shrine, and left to await his Immortality until release by Walker Akero, as Rahan had built their home on the same property as the shrine they now owned. Upon being released, King journeyed the world, and found himself not wanting to immerse himself in the surroundings until he'd learned more of the world. For years after, he remained in the cave as a sort of hermit, reprising his role as shrine protector.

In 2007, that all came to an end, as during one of Walker's frequent training visits to King ended with Walker convincing his old friend to pull himself from the life of a hermit and join in the world at large, getting to meet Bo and becoming a three-man team from there in Walker's business, Akero Investigations, replacing the missing Rahan and Joesph that Walker once partnered with. While King's membership in the UGoI was initially a formality and a status of honor as the UGoI was hardly around anymore, it soon paid off with the sudden re-emerging UGoI staff.

Soon to follow, King assisted in the downfall of the Rhine and her people, at first commentating on Rhine's fight with Rahan and Kyla, and later joining Walker and Bo in following Edgar and Rahan to a temple that asked to help destroy Rhine's remains, and ended up (as our team suspected) being Rhine's followers in disguise. Following the proof of their evil intentions, the five of them proceeded the mass destruction of Rhine's entire hidden army there, with little to their might left over when the UGoI was through them. To this day, King remains a frontline in the team, ready for action.

Personality: Great, especially when compared to his comrades in arms Rahan and Joesph. King is almost painfully nice, and very supportive. He also has classic ideas about chivalry--he will fight for a girl's life and her honor even at the expense of his own. Also spontaneous and fun-loving. Rather lazy. Spends most of his time lounging around the house. Tends to be highly emotional. Scared stiff of Vampires. King is a hero, which greatly defines his actions. He must act in a courageous manner, boasting of his great deeds and of the things he is going to accomplish. He cannot shirk from actions that are dangerous, or allow a challenge to go unanswered.

He known to be a great hero, a powerful warrior and he must live up to these expectations. Naturally, this mind set does cause him to perform acts that people might call foolish. Note: "Justice not Law" means just that, King will usually hunt down the offending party if it's the last thing he does. Such things as "due process of law" are pushed aside in his quest to extract vengeance on the offending party(ies). King also lives by the Germanic code that one cannot allow the death of a close companion or liege to go unanswered. Unlike most heroes of these sorts of tales, he doesn't get embroiled in the circular blood-feuds that are a staple of most sagas, instead confronting larger supernatural threats. This poor guy has the unhappy job of overseeing the UGoI-ESF.

In everything but when he’s fighting, he constantly complains of ulcers, upset stomach, headaches and general illness (and considering the number of complaint forms the Night Parade generate, can you blame him?). Nicholas King is a superb smuggler with a wry wit, a reckless disposition, and technological savvy who yearns to be free. He gave up riches, power and the title of king, all to avoid the confinement of duty. He lives a rough life, wandering and training hard, yet enjoys it for its freedom and simplicity. He is very protective of his brother Walker and the shrine he left behind, secretly watching both from afar. As a member of the UGoI, King is marked for death by the DeDaMon empire, although unlike others he meets this challenge head-on. King is an enigma.

One can never tell exactly what he's thinking or planning, or even if he's speaking the truth. To be honest, he does seem a man of his word, and sticks to it, even if circumstances lead one to believe otherwise. Of course, he does have his priorities, and staying alive tops the list. In fact, much of what he does is driven by how his actions can best benefit King. Some of this self-centeredness can be attributed to King's devotion to the Ronin’s version of the Code of the Bushido (a.k.a. the Samurai's Code), in which it is stated (among other things) "Courtesy breeds courtesy, and respect can grow only in its own soil". King is gruff, rude and always speaks his mind. He has few social graces, always swearing and telling people exactly what he thinks of them, which is very little.

Ghost Walker's Comments (Spoilers, misc. details)

Strengths: Little of King's fighting skill is revealed through events so far. He is a teacher of the martial arts, however, so it is safe to make some assumptions regarding his skills. As any other practitioner of martial arts, King must be a fighter who is able to adapt to almost any situation. Additionally, as a trainee of the Samurai, he must have the ability to be honorable whenever it is to his advantage in combat (within reasonable limits, of course). When any of his brothers in arms are in danger, his protective instincts can give him added determination (which means that he might actually fight instead of letting Walker do it ^_^). King hasn't really been in action fighting-wise enough to assess his strengths. However, from what has been seen, he is a fairly skillful martial artist who has fought alongside Walker and Bo. His skill level probably is the same as Walker's, although lack of practice may have made him a bit rusty. King also seems to work well in teams, and fights well in concert with other people.

Weaknesses: Like Walker, he is easily distracted by money, food, etc. King's skill has doubtlessly suffered with age, not to mention the fact that he's never seen doing any training or teaching any more. All these years of being unemployed and doing virtually nothing had to have taken their toll on his ability. He is also a very emotional man, known to often break into emotion whenever he becomes slightly sad, or proud, or happy.. etc. As King is a very emotional person, this could take away from his fighting. He also seems to work better in a team (most preferably with his friend, Walker) rather than in a one-on-one fight. He also overestimates the value of his own experience at times, and will think he has won when he really has not.
