Profile: In 1999, Kinji was one of the few friends of Vent that joined with the ranks of a guild called the ESF. Vent was so proud of this faction because of it's stand against the Orochi that he crafted badges like those police had for the ESF members he knew. However, jealous of this idea and not wanting anyone to mistake Vent and those with him as the true authority behind them, the ESF demanded that the badges be destroyed, or they would be destroyed instead. This caused the small group to rebel from their guild, forming their own ESF guild instead.
While simultaniously fighting the other ESF, they also had the attention of the Orochi who couldn't tell one ESF from another. As they were a small band of rebels, the ESF needed help to really make a dent in their enemies, and the hope came from one of the most unlikely places when Vent heard that a group calling themselves the UGoI entered the homeland of Anime Gaming with specific intent to end the Orochi's reign of corruption. Vent suited up, and set out to meet these potential new allies in hopes of having a real chance.
The UGoI and the ESF made good friends. Vent joined the UGoI, and Walker Akero joined the ESF, as a way of solidifying the pact. To prove his worth in the guild, and mostly for fun, Walker was asked if he'd spar one of the members to show his talents. That person was Kinji herself. Meeting for the first time in this method of honorable combat, Kinji and Walker grew a healthy respect for each other that would last in friendship beyond even some of their own older friends. While Walker won the match, it was a pretty close one, and in the end they promised each other a rematch some day.
Kinji was engaged to one Bean Kenzaki, and the two of them had child by name of Makare. Bean Kenzaki remained an ally of UGoI and ESF ever since, but was adament in his not joining them. Their relationship, however, was held on ice, and many-a-time Walker Akero played the role of meddler and attempted to keep the two together and strong. This earned him the nickname "The Preacher" from Kinji, and lasts to this day as a nickname well used. Much later down, like many of the relationships in UGoI, Bean and Kinji did not last. Likewise, nor did Vent and Jenn's, and with great hardship, Vent left the realms to search for meaning in life.
The ESF was bound to crumble when Vent left, as well as those that left with him, but Bean Kenzaki surprised everyone when not only did he finally take up ranks in the ESF, but he worked with Walker to head it, and merge ESF and UGoI into one guild to fix both side's heavy losses. She met Abby and Hannah, and since the three were easily the most powerful girls in this guild, as well as all three being half-saiyajins, they became something of a team (think KoF). Later down this road, Kinji's brother came into the scene.
An ex-ESF member himself, and a man so deranged by cruelty and evil, he actually sought romantic invovement with her, and this caused the UGoI-ESF to strike out against him. Enraged by this, he went and started his own guild to fight them, the DSW. The depredations of the DSW grew to another guild he joined called the SOE, and soon enough his lies won over the ZRF to his side. The number of guilds against the UGoI-ESF were now in five, and yet still Kinji did not at all leave their side. By the year 2000, she'd followed Walker into Rhy'Din and met the Night Parade, and their leader Renki' Sar Kane.
Unfortunately, nearing the year 2003, her presence became less and less until it disappeared all-together. It was learned that Walker and Kinji were given a large number of Vent's effects, since she was basically one of the few original people to ever hold to the original ESF team still around. Among these items was a jewel which had the soul of one Kara Argos (Jesse's character before Kinji), whom was slayed by one of the Orochi before Vent, which no doubt started his hatred for the guild that spurned him to joining the ESF to begin with. Without realizing it, however, Kinji fused with this soul. Kara and Kinji are now one person, and it is hoped that this being 2008, she will make a return. Here's hoping!
Personality: Fun, fun, fun. :) Bouncy, thrill-seeking mercenaries with a neko touch. Hannah and Kinji's disadvantages are pretty much self explanatory. Their unusual size and looks makes them pretty easy to spot. Mischievious beyond words, one may never know for sure -what- they may be up to, even if it looks perfectly apparent. Almost totally irresponsable, however, no respect for any rules or laws other then what they wanna do. They are known criminals, and high on the Rhy'Din City Police's wanted list. Both of them are pretty proud of their Saiyajin origins and don't take kindly to be referred to as monkies, gorillas, or apes. They tend to be violent, and certainly enjoy using autofire weapons as a way of resolving almost any problem.
It's reasonable to believe they'll leap to defend anyone they consider close to them, but more likely for the thrill of it, rather then because of however they may feel. Life to them is just one big joyride. As a rule, Saiyajins are very arrogant. They consider themselves to be the most powerful race around, the undisputed "Princes of the Universe" and view all other races with contempt. The only person they don't look down on is Freezer, probably because he is the one person in the universe they could not defeat. They are also supposed to be "inherently evil' and take great joy in combat and fighting. It's also reasonable to believe they could be very affectionate if they came to truly care for you, but a great amount of patience would be required before reaching such a point.
Fairly pleasant, though with a streak of that Takahashi stubborness.Like her elemental aspect, she is calm and serene, but can rapidly boil up into a tempest. Kinji is a volatile personality -- very much a 'princess' in some respects, she does not handle new or unusual situations very well. Explosive. Quick-tempered, a bit petty. Anime and manga fan! (Big plus) Like her element, Kinji is fiery: short tempered and prone to explode into anger. Her patience has been worn thin due to constant interaction with Trinity, and hence lashes out easily. Likes to take charge and is quite capable of doing so. Anything will set this woman off. And she is very likely to express her outrage with heavy metal and hot lead. Tread lightly and speak softly when anywhere near this lady.
However, I suspect that sufficient knowledge of and access to the latest military hardware will turn her into a little girl in a candy store. This would be difficult to acheive as she is employed by the largest arms manufacturer in the world, but I'm sure Earth Special Forces has competitors whose products Kinji would dearly love to try out. Start dusting off your resume. Note that she was nice to Bean while they were dating. Holds the prestigious honor of being the most sane UGoI character. Tends not to come on to people as strongly as her bretheren. In other words, she's basically your average Joe (er, Jane) in this category. Daydreams.
She also cares deeply for Walker, and winds up following him on his quest. She sees Trinity as a threat to her relationship with Walker, and tries to keep his attention whenever possible.
Initially, she resists the role of the Earth Special Forces, but after Vent and friends are threatened by Orochi, she agrees to fully join the quest. Kinji is a volatile personality -- very much a 'princess' in some respects, she does not handle new or unusual situations very well. She has a running rivalry with King, often accusing him of leading the ESF straight into traps. Kinji can be very haughty and aloof, particularly when others call her a whore, but she had a heart of gold, and soft-spot for who life steps on. As a terrorist, Kinji lived in fear of discovery by the ever-present Orochi clan. Her main motivation for fighting them is as revenge for what Cibr did to her town, friends and family. Honorable and very much "in control" of herself, if not others. She warms up a lot during the events, but she still has the sea with her.
Kinji is strong-willed and determined. She will do almost anything to find her killer, including fight the Orochi themselves if needed. She has also sworn to bring down Cibr and all of Orochi and will allow nothing to stop her order to see this come about. Although Kinji can and will work well with others, she doesn't suffer fools gladly, and doesn't like to be patronized. She's constantly exasperated at Trinity's whininess, and believes she is a better natural leader for the team, in truth she couldn't lead ants to a picnic. She is strong, tough and capable, and doesn't care to be considered "the weaker sex." There is some evidence that Kinji is romantically attracted to Walker, on the other hand, time had her fall for Bean Kenzaki.
Walker's Comments (Spoilers, misc. details)
Strengths: Kinji excells at ranged combat. With her large katana, she can easily keep her opponents back, and with her throwing spatula, she can attack them from even greater distances. Kinji really knows how to wield that large sword she carries to her advantage. She can also be deadly accurate with the mini knives she throws. Her range is excellent with these two weapons, having shown an ability to keep an opponent at a distance and escape injury. Kinji rarely loses focus in a fight. When she is focused on defeating an opponent, she will win. Her unorthodox tactics can keep people off guard if they don't know what to expect. She was even able to give Joesph, a House of Kane martial artist a tough time keeping up with her strange techniques. When Kinji becomes very determined to fight, for Bean or any other reason, she can become much harder to defeat.
Weaknesses: Kinji can lose her focus, though, especially around Walker. There are some situations where Walker disarms Kinji's focus or anger with a few words. Kinji also sometimes can become angry to the point of brawling instead of fighting (this has been seen many times with Hannah around her). Her unique style of fighting may be, when compared to the other "pure" fighting styles around her, more inferior in a fight. At close quarters, Kinji is at a great disadvantage. Her large katana is too large and cumbersome to use effectively on an opponent who is close enough to use their fists. Additionally, if she loses her katana, she will have to fall back on her hand to hand skills, which are none too impressive. Since Kinji is a cook first and a martial artist second, she is perhaps not as powerful as she has the potential to be. After giving up on her quest for vengeance, it's understandable that she would no longer practice against the raging seas. |
